Good development ,I have never seen where shutting down telecoms have solved security issues, why not device a means to monitor or even spy on the kind of conversation going on among the residents, so as to fish out the terrorists ,their sponsors and those sympathetic to their evil works,these government people are indeed clueless and ignorant gan..my father inlaw rest in peace as you go down inside the grave today,we love u but God loves you most,God grant us journey mercy today ijn Amen

It could really. But not for mundane military like ours. Our soldiers use handset to communicate (very primitive and dangerous). Many (soldiers) were killed in Zamfara because of the network shutdown.

The government may just be dancing around the issues of bandits and kidnappers. When they feel like eliminating these terrorists, they'll do so. Soldiers are trained to fight in the bush to keep the towns safe. These criminals are mostly in the forests or bushes going by reports. One of such is sambisa forest.
