I agree with you, but this type of church is a bit different. It is not a one man owned church or scam centre owned by one baba and mama GO. Catholic, Anglican and other older churches in Igboland are centres of community development too. They have their faults, but they are not scam centres like RCCG and the rest.

It's an Opium.
After Calming the society through threats, it's now the duty of a sensible government to fix the nation or mar it.
NIGERIA would have imploded if not for it's Religiosity. RELIGION calms a troubled soul and offers hope for the unseen.
