We were all Africans before we got separated into individual nations. African history and migration studies confirms that there is more that unites us than divides us. As the big family that we are, we all draw diverse creative inspiration from one another - no wonder then that we have similar cultures and values across the continent, and this cross-pollination is clearly shown in our music and sound. With the advent of the modern day nation-state, each independent nation is uniquely gifted in order to contribute its quota to the overall status of Africa's entertainment and creative arts scene. To do this, we must support each other in equal measure. Our brother nation Nigeria has done very well to mark many of the biggest milestones in the entertainment scene and is putting Africa on the global map due to the strength of its population (amongst other qualities.

Accordingly, our Nigerian brothers must consider that with their great power comes the responsibility of helping to forge a united African front by deliberately allowing music from the other African countries which pollinate Nigerian music to flourish on Nigerian platforms on local and international levels. This approach will enable the African sound to dominate the world as one big family and as a global force... That's how we stand as one Africa.. My brother Shatta Wale's approach may be wrong but the topic of our brother nation Nigeria not reciprocating the love and support it receives particularly from Ghana is valid and deserves critical attention. Meanwhile, as the saying goes, we must love our neighbours as we love ourselves (not more than we love ourselves). This means that Ghanaians home and abroad must emulate the Nigerian approach of prioritising an agenda to invest in and support Ghanaian talent.

These Ghanaian noise makers are really pained due to the success Nigerian artistes are recording year in year out...this is the true picture of small nyansh dey shake o.

Nigerian artistes should avoid them, cos it's evident that their Ghanaian counterparts are going through a phase of depression.

It's not their fault. It's our artists like Wizkid, Davido, and Burna Boy that I blame. Will they say that they are unaware of the envy and jealousy that Ghanaians have been displaying against Nigerians in their country lately? Is it a must for them to be going to such an increasingly anti-Nigerian country for extended stays? It is their waka-waka that is making some Ghanaians to falsely think that Nigerians owe them something.

These artists should sit their butts in one place and stop embarrassing themselves and Nigeria. Ghanaians hate Nigerians out of jealousy and envy, and there is nothing we Nigerians can do about that. They are just using this music of a thing as an excuse. Nigerians don't discriminate when it comes to good music. If your music is sweet enough, we will groove to it, regardless of where the singer is from. Enough of the cheap blackmail.

I don't think we should take this any further, Nigerians,Ghanaians and other African's should endeavor to support each other in anyway possible. Nigerians especially may have justification if they fail to support Ghanaian musicians because Ghana of lately has shown there deep rooted resentment for Nigerians living in their country, they systematically attack and run down successful Nigerian businesses, enact obnoxious laws just to get at Nigerians and other black Africans living in Ghana.
Until African learns that there is strength in unity we may never get over the imperialistic tag of '3rd world nations'.

I think I understand their pain but there are certain things they are getting wrong. Music is art and show biz at the same time.
How many artiste lower than Shata Wale and Stone Boy even in that their Ghana do they feature? Davido, Olamide and the rest have featured in their music but they need to have a great sound and they need to be in demand for people to be head over heals to feature them. Tuface, Timaya, Kizz Daniel, and million others have stop getting featured because they are not in demand.
What’s wizkid, Davido or burna boy’s gain if they feature Stone Boy or Shata Wale at this stage of their career? Who will know Stone boy if not for the collabs he got by Nigerian musicians?
Nigerian artiste put Victoria Kimani, Diamond Platinumz and the rest of them on the music map.
Burna recently featured plenty African artiste in his African Giant album but those artiste had something to contribute to the album.
StoneBoy and Shata Wale should understand that they are not in demand if they are they will get features.

Music is not charity.

We saw how how they flopped Beyoncé “Lion King” Album. Only one song made it to hit in that album and that’s black skin girl. The rest that feature both Nigeria and Ghanaian artistes were flop. That’s because most of them only make noise. They don’t add much of creativity to music.
If they have a new artiste that’s as good as Omah Lay or Buju I’m sure it’s Nigeria boys that will be dragging them.

Instead of all these emotional outbursts, they should work on their craft and see how people will be paying them huge for features.

Ghanaians are going through a phase of depression? grin why will Ghanaians be depressed, when their country is doing good, compared with your own country? Or is this a joke or something?

Then why are your artists crying for our support?
Have you ever seen where a rich man begs a poor man for anything?

Upon all your light, your only major export is adonko bitters.
VGMA, your country's biggest music award, is the brainchild of a Nigerian. Meaning we have our gatekeepers in your music industry.

You people talk of our artists staying in Ghana. Yet your actors are all over Lagos begging for jobs because they would rather work in Nollywood than in your dead kumawood. Some of dem are even toys for our z-listers E.g Iceberg Slim and Juliet Ibrahim
But we don't come out to brag about it.

You people want to start what you can never finish. You pursued Nollywood out of your country, your movie industry collapsed to today. Try the music industry and let's see.

You are obviously deficient in intelligence quotient, huh?

Or you are confused? Let me educate you. Ghanaian artistes come to Ghana and are paid to perform. Yes, Ghana pays them to come and perform here, huh? That is support, right? Yes, Ghanaians are supporting Nigerian artiste by bringing them to Ghana and paying them to perform.

What Ghanaian artistes are saying is, why can't Ghanaian artistes also go to Nigeria and perform and be paid, just their nigerian counterparts do in Ghana? what is fvcking wrong with that argument?

you nigerians are just arrogant for nothing. You talk as if you own the world, yet poverty don full ground in your country.

You nigerians are so bloody jeouleous of everything. Twitter opened an office in Ghana and the whole country wanted to burn cool

Jealous of what?

Jealous of the fact that your A-list actresses are used as playthings before they are even given one role in Nollywood? I even hear the men don join lipsrsealed

Jealous of the fact that your only national export still remains adonko bitters even with your light that you always brag about

Jealous of the fact that even with Twitter banned in Nigeria, our musicians trend more than yours in your own country?

Jealous of the fact that there are only two Ghanaian songs on your country's top 20 music chart? The rest is occupied by Nigerians. Even the Ghanaian songs had Nigerian features grin

Jealous of the fact that your artists and actors need Nigeria to blow and not the other way round?

Your musicians will shout more than this next year. Una never see anything.

Nonsense..we all vibed to v.i.p album when it dropped cause it was hot. What rubbish is shata and stonebwoy saying? they should up their content or do a talent show that will not involve any Nigerian because we fit go win Dem again and bring out any hidden talent in Ghana that can give africa good vibes..we all missed v.i.p though.
Funny enough I watched a YouTube video this year saying this same thing about our gospel songs taken over Ghana.what is good is good.we listened to Sonnie Badu's "baba"here in nigeria and till now ,because the song was top notch.

Indirectly supporting what shattered wale said that Nigeria doesnt support other Africans music.

But lets look at it broadly. Is this our fault ? No, the thing is most other African artists just dont cut it save for some South African Artists who compare with the best globally, so what exactly are Nigerians supposed to do?

We should.download the garbage people like Shattered wale sing? When i would rather lay back and pour me a glass of whiskey while listening to some burna boy and buju (paradise)

Once you go 9ija you cant go back to those Accra jargon... so what is the solution? Other countries should Put pressure on their local artists to produce better content ... you cant be singing lepa gauo in 2021 and expect us to stream or.download that garbage... why do you think Nigerian music is the number one international music on spotify , Apple music and Tidal?

Ps Edo men are naturally intelligent , yes bask in my superior mental dexterity..

cool

MUSICAL DEPRESSION

Iamdbull:

Its a thing of time, in the late 80's and early 90's it was south African music, they in the late 90's to early 2000's we have Congolese music, then in mid 2000's it was Ghana, before the baton finally reached naija

This is not a thing of Time, Nigerians are too gifted Musically,,,,with the nonsense these other countries are Singing,,,, Nigeria will likely never pass the Baton Forever.

Up till now No one is close to Nigeria in Afro beat.

Ghana brought Banku.... Nigerians perfected it

S.A brought Amapiano....Just take a look at how Nigerian artistes are eating Amapiano for breakfast...

Make dem carry another style come...We go still perfect am.......

Amodi470:

And in the Mid 2000s we never envy #Awilo Logomba & co.

Same Awilo that needed Features from P Square and Praiz to revive his career...Let him comman sing Jo ma pelle co ma tu ta pelle again Na
