How did they justify incompetency in this report? Okay can you tell us how many people died in Festac Town last year? Inec is very correct in it's submission, without proper birth and death register, it is practically impossible for even Govt to know the number of birth and death each year....

I want to suggest that government should mandate every body to be using either public or private, Muslim or Christian cemetery when burying their loved ones. At these cemeteries, there must be a a dedicated officer who will have a computer systems and a software installed that is linked to nimc data base. This officer would request for NIN or BVN of the deceased and then log it into nimc database. The officer can also get NIN by requesting for phone number of the deceased and the software will bring out NIN through this phone number.
Subsequently, Inec would have MoU with nimc in accessing all NINs that have been flagged as death. Then Inec would use these NIN to update its voter's register.

This is my opinion and it can be improved upon.

What about family or private cemeteries. Some people bury their dead inside a room in the house or within the compound of the deceased.

I is basically impossible to remove the dead from INEC register. They can only make a new register.

All the identity information should be unified - INEC, National Population Commission, BVN and NIMC... Nigeria is not ready to move forward... enough of these excuses. They know the right thing to do abeg.. .den nor just ready to get it right and always celebrating mediocrity

it is not INECs job to certify people dead. They are to ensure that biometrics work during elections so that people cannot impersonate the dead people that is their job not keeping track of who is dead or alive
