Lagos is a no man's land built with the sweat and resources of different ethnic groups in Nigeria, especially Igbos'. In ancient times, Lagos, aka Eko was the aboriginal home of minor ethnicities including the Aworis, it was never a Yoruba land. Yorubas only started migrating to Lagos in the 19th century. I just wanted to school you a little bit cos I know you missed your history classes.

Igbos are only interested in Lagos which is a No man's land because it's the business hub of Nigeria and Igbos dominate businesses in Nigeria by a great margin compared to other tribes. Have you asked yourself why Igbos are only interested in Lagos and not in other core Yoruba towns like Abeokuta and Ibadan? It's simply because those places are almost like rural areas and have nothing to offer.

Igbos are only interested in Lagos cos we all own Lagos whether you like it or not.

Celebrity worship syndrome is becoming an epidemic in Africa and it seems as though Nigeria is its epicentre.

The bulk of Nairaland members will criticize her but they aren't different. It is because the majority are part of the whole and complicit in this negative cultural evolution that we have stories of bad influences, like Tonto Dike brushing her teeth or Mrs Regina Nwoko taking air transport, grace the front page of Nigeria's biggest forum.

It gets worse when the media amplifies their nuisance. It pushes more black children to believe that drugs, fraud, sex trading and entertainment are the only ways out of poverty and this belief correlates with the neglect of science, which inspires innovations , nation building , economic development and civilization that are prevalent everywhere else but sub-saharan Africa.

There are way more Nigerian children and teenagers who know that the ghetto musician, Portable, was gifted an old Range Rover this past day than those who know that the under-30 Nigerian founders of paystack sold the startup for $200 million (US Dollars) this year grin

More Nigerian kids therefore aspire to be like Portable instead of the Paystack founders because of celebrity worship syndrome.

Am just tired of the whole celebrity worship stuff. People who seek to satisfy their urge for likes and comments on the social platforms, keep on exposing vital secrets of their lives to the public. Going to school, inventions, authoring a book are all a "No" to African youths. Everyone wants to be a TikTok celebrity, Twitter or Instagram influencer. Many are subscribers to WhatsApp TVs and Telegram channels that feeds them with garbage namely porn, fraud formats etc.

Now there's what I call Coin Craze many youths are running after newly launched crypto coins...most of these coins will never appreciate, but they keep on investing their hard earned money on useless coins.

It is quite disheartening bro.

It was only a question of when not if some bigoted psycho will display their madness!

Assuming Igbos are ‘fixated’ with Lagos, i don’t see why you have a problem with that! And you got 10 likes for that shi’t...probably from like-minded fools!

Omo, even though I cherish my freedom and that of others, I can't help but comment that a nation like China was able to develop exponentially because of the state's control on the media. This is definitely not the most important or greatest factor for their massive and quick development, but then the way that the mind of the citizens of a country is set/wired definitely dictates their overall contribution to nation building. The media is one of the ways that the mind of the citizens of a Nation is conditioned. The mind of an average Nigerian has been polluted in several ways, one of which is via exposure to unproductive media trend.

Apt!!

Are today's youths really Leaders of tomorrow? angry

From foolishness even among the educated folks to indecent lifestyle like scamming, robbery, prostitution, drugs, hooliganism and such.

Whenever is still remember that Awolowo, Balewa, Azikwe, Enahoro, Akintola, Gowon, Obasanjo and the likes we're already Leader of the most populous African country at that very tender age made me conclude that, TODAYS YOUTH ARE NOT READY TO LEAD with their own lifestyle.

The Saner ones among us are not many.

For the Time being, OLDER PEOPLE CAN CONTINUE LEADING US, WE CAN'T GET IT RIGHT WITH THIS KIND OF YOUTH IN POWER
easier said than done. Go and start up from grassroots and see how rotten the system is.

You spoke as an uniformed ignoramus that you are, I'm sure your other igbo brethren are shaking their heads for you, igbos are found even in the smallest village in yorubaland not to talk of abeokuta and ibadan, not in small number but en mass. You also spoke confidently about Lagos not being a yoruba land even though you spoke nonsense, you refuse to go to school because you prefer to reel out trash from your empty head, even NTA has a thorough documentary on the history of Lagos and there was no contest that Lagos is a yoruba land, because the colonial masters decided to settle there due to its proximity to the sea does not make it a no man's land. But you are free to tell yourself whatever makes you happy.
