Omo, even though I cherish my freedom and that of others, I can't help but comment that a nation like China was able to develop exponentially because of the state's control on the media. This is definitely not the most important or greatest factor for their massive and quick development, but then the way that the mind of the citizens of a country is set/wired definitely dictates their overall contribution to nation building. The media is one of the ways that the mind of the citizens of a Nation is conditioned.
