This what we call half truth. An expired Visa doesn’t mean you need to leave the country immediately especially if you arrived before said expiry and your duration of stay is still valid.

I don’t understand how she can enter Kenya with an expired visa. At the point of entry, your visa is checked and if it is valid you are allowed in with a duration of stay given. Unless they are saying she exceeded duration of stay granted her. I have entered the US with 5 days left on my visa and was allowed in and stamped in for 6 months. The visa is only a gate pass, duration of stay is given by the admitting officer. Maybe these things work different in African countries
