Please EFCC has nothing to do with this. A recent Supreme court ruling has clearly stated that EFCC only has no business with cases that do not involve moving money illegally out of Nigeria.
This is false.
EFCC act is very clear and the supreme court did not invalidate any part of it.

The right or wrong of the judgement is not any of my business. The issue for me is what transpired in that video. The governor of a state (who doubles as the chief security officer of that state) ordered a CSP to stand down, and he blatantly disregarded him!

That is atrocious!!!
The governor cannot order any policeman to stop doing his or her job.
He has no such power.

Haven't you learned from this story?
The real owner will go to court and retrieve their lands.
Thiefs in government steal lands from owners under the guise of public good and then
reallocate same land to their friends and family and you are here supporting them. SMH

Tinubu came and deployed his thugs to intimidate people over land issues. Too ba gbemu, you'd smell death if you didn't die eventually. Nice judgement ever. Gradually, we will take back what belongs to us. Magodo landlords should approach the court and do the needful. Their money must not go just like that. Supreme court judgement is supreme according to its name and there's nothing anyone can do about it. I'm not a fan of the apc but malami is in order in this. He's the AGF and MOJ.
Stop saying what you don't know.
Was Magodo estate developed by the Lagos state government?

What insolence!

What is Malami and IGP interest in the said case I still don't get it! Are they planning to turn Magodo Estate to another Fulani caliphate... Or an old grazing route/ Ruga settlement has been discovered over there

They should let their rascalities end in Abuja or Adeyiga and co had already allocated some portion of the land to them in principle in exchange for the hatchet job

The supreme court judgement must be obeyed but issues like this may bring out another court proceedings that may last another 30years.

They should face Supreme Court that pronounced that the true owners of the land were cheated and the land be returned to them.

In my opinion, this issue has absolutely nothing to do with Malami and they will be playing to the gallery by attempting to politicize it. Thank God the true owners of the land who were cheated for several years took the path of legal redress instead of taking the laws into their own hands. The SC judgement is a serious indictment on the state and it will be nice if the judgement winners petition EFCC to investigate and prosecute those Lagos State officials who originally sold the land after dispossessing the true owners .

This issue can't be closed with just returning the land, it's an opportunity to see the faces of those who put LASG in this disgraceful position where the Governor is engaging in the criminality of attempting to block the enforcement of a SC judgement and even the LASG AG resorted to twisting the SC judgement and outrightly threatening the judgement winners.
With the kind of advice the Attorney General gave the Governor, the judgement winners should report the AG to NJC and NBA disciplinary committee.

Until the judgement winners petition EFCC, those standing against the execution of the judgement won't realise the severity of the injustice committed against private citizens who had to go hungry for years just to get back their property.
What relief exactly did the supreme Court grant Is it Possession of contested property? Have you seen the Judgement? Don't come online and start dancing naked in ignorance!

A governor need not be aware of any law enforcement operation and stopping it should actually be a crime
as it is in organised countries with federal and state police.

Neither governors or presidents are gods with unlimited power.
Even dictatorship tyrants don't interfere in all civil cases.

The police, judiciary and others are supposed to be independent from external interference
while carrying out their lawful duties. They do not need the governor or the president's permission
to do their job.

How then is he supposed to guarantee any form of security to the people that voted him in as the chief security officer of the state?!!
A chief security officer is not above the law and neither does he has the right to perverse justice.

You should even be afraid that a mere man can scuttle your justice even if you win in court.

The government stole people's land and sold it to their friends.
The court returns the land back to the owner and the police are enforcing
the judgement according to the power granted to them by the constitution.

All you and others could do is support the thieves and bring up various excuses
to justify denial of justice.

With your mindset, I am afraid for the future!

If the land is state property then the federal has no business on the land.

Only restructuring can cure this impasse whereby every State will have its own Supreme Court...
There are certain matters that just do not make sense.
The Federal Government should have no business in this.
The State Supreme Court should be the final stop on these kinds of issues.
If so, will have been settled years ago.
The centralisation of power is robbing this nation of many things including development that comes through speedy arbitration.
Imagine 10 years.
Look at the economic cost of structural injustice.

This nonsense overcentralization of governance in Nigeria must STOP!! It's the major impediment to the growth of nations in the country!

How can a governor assure his residents of safety when he can't even give orders to the security officers in the state!

Madness!

PS - Malami Minions are trying to divert the discussion to the supreme Court judgement rather than the real issue which is the ABSURDITY of the Governor of a state not being aware of a security operation in his domain and the CSP disregarding a direct order from him to stand down!
The governor of a state has absolutely no right over a supreme court judgement. In case you don't know, a Supreme court judgement can remove a governor and even a siting president.

Magodo incident is about rule of law, AGF & IGP’s agents lawfully cannot invade the estate in the pretext of enforcing SC Judgment.
They are not Sheriffs empowered to so do under the SCPA. If the LASG disobeyed the Court, redress venue is still the Court. Not office of IGP or AGF

The police were on illegal duty without warrant. They were outnumbered and withdrew
to avoid confrontation or being sacrificed by those who sent them.
Wike dares not try the stunt in broad daylight with policemen carrying out their legal duties.
He will be disgraced.

It is not today that police has been used to cage governors.

The judgement stated they should be given 549 plots it never stated it has to be in Magodo.
Neither did it state anywhere that they were cheated and the said land should be given back to them

According to the Lagos government, the case dates back to the demolition of properties at Shangisha village between 1984 and 1985, after which a supreme court verdict ordered the state to give the Shangisha landlords 549 plots of land as a “matter of first priority”.

Where in this judgement was it explicitly stated that the land has to be in Magodo

The SC DID NOT outrightly rule that the judgement creditors should repossess their lands. The SC recognizes that the Land Use Act vests the Executive Governor of Lagos State with the powers to allocate and reallocate land within the boundaries of the state in the public interest. What the SC ruling says is that the judgement creditors should be given FIRST CONSIDERATION in the allocation of any plots totalling 549 in Magodo GRA.Obviously there are no undeveloped plots of that magnitude WITHIN Magodo GRA that can be allocated afresh to them and that is why the LASG proposed to compensate the displaced landowners with plots of land in other schemes across the state. Some of the dispossessed landowners accepted the offer while a few like Chief Adeyiga in particular not only rejected the LASG's offer but chose to interpret the judgement as he saw fit with the connivance of the Attorney-General of the Federation and the Inspector-General of Police.Once again I emphasize that the Supreme Court did not ask the judgement creditors to take possession of their lands but that they must be compensated with 549 plots within Magodo GRA.Therefore they pushed the responsibility of compensation to the LASG and the Governor has the prerogative of determining how that compensation can be made.
