. 1. Ibadan has been divided into communities with Mogajis in different families that make a community. There can be many mogajis at a time but. recognized according to their seniority. 2. If any of the heir dies next replaces him and others move up. 3 If an heir is guilty of a gross conduct he can be removed by Olubandan and Ibandan Council of Chiefs

Thank you for taking your time to respond to my questions.

In effect, you're saying that if this one now that's to be enthroned is found grossly wanting, he'll not be enthroned, right!

Again, if the Mogajis from different communities are ranked by seniority, does it mean then that the Olubadan at any given time is the oldest man in Ibadan?

Or is there any other measures used in determining the MOST SENIOR other than age, since family heads are always the oldest men from their respective families?

Could it be that not all Mogajis qualify to become chief?

. Usually Ibadan high Chiefs are well-behaved men. They make up Olubandan in Council. We don't expect misdemeanor from them. Additionally there is seniority in Mogajis. If I become Mogaji today and you become Mogaji next week I am senior to you in ranking. Every Mogaji is a prospective Olubadan if he does not dies. So Ibadan kingship is from Transition to Transition.

Great insight! Thanks.

What happens when the rightful person has obvious questionable character or a history of brazenness? Will he still enthroned, irrespective of that?

Must the Mogajis come from the royal family or from any family of Ibadan origin?

THERE ARE NO ROYAL FAMILIES IN IBADAN. That is why the position does not pass from father to son.

You are a wawa pig from Ebonyi where other Igbos regard you as being less than dogs. I don't blame you. You are a slave to other Igbos and your children are slaves to others. You can never understand what Kingship entails..

Expected. Whenever one gives you vital information you should meditate on, what follows is abuse and reference to other people to hide your weak background. The message is there: whenever you want to embrace kingship, come to us and learn the tenets of traditional custodianship, not the political appointments you do over there. Let your governor install his stooge there and wait the decision of the court. Truth, we know, is bitter.

Now I see what is wrong with you. Because your institution called it GNS means all other institutions must call it GNS. Same could be applicable to the distorted history you learned. Isn't it obvious you just committed intellectual harakiri in your bid to sound genius? Take this to the bank: no Bini man or woman has accepted or will accept Bini history abridged and narrated by an outsider. If you really want to know the history of our people, look for the one written by Prof Iru-eweka or the one documented by J. B. Croft, the British Lord in charge of the bight of Benin before your distorted history started making round your newspapers. Our court poets are still alive in the palace of Ewuare to put you through in your areas of difficulty. Say no to wrong analogy.

We knew before. Kingship in Ibadan is not controversial except if one wants to make a fool of himself. Very simple. Olubadan is traditional Chief, they are only popular as a result of the growth in population of the city. Olubadan are traditionally not rated king in Yoruba land.

FACT.

No o

That will be the Balogun

Ladoja will become Otun olubadan now

He is presently Osi Olubadan

He (Ladoja) will be next. The title.is rotated between Otun and Balogun

The Olubadan elect is (was) an Otun Olubadan

Note that coincidentally, his last name is Balogun but not the Balogun title

Ladoja is Osi Olubadan, Now he will become Otun Olubadan.... should this Olubadan pass away, the predecessor will be chosen from the Balogun line

Should that one too pass away, it goes back to olubadan line therefore Ladojas turn because he is (will be) Otun olubadan by then

Ladoja is not next yet
He is second in line

Who told you. Ibadan has been a warrior city and has the right of obaship in Yorubaland. You are just mocking your self .You don't know the history of Yorubaland because you are not one of us.

Rubbish! The kingmakers have the final say. Your Seyi Makinde cannot change the decision of the kingmakers. Dr. Lekan Balogun is the next Olubadan of Ibadan.
Are you joking? It seems you know nothing about the power of governor of a state in choosing a new king in a town. He has the authority to either approve or reject. No need for argument, you do research about it on your phone.

The fact you accepted those author as authoritative voice does not mean their writings are not questionable, even in the Field of academia nothing is infinite.
Benin history is not the same as ìbàdàn,the monarchy system in ìbàdàn is peculiar to the people and it has proven to be sensible because it can never be manipulated.
You can't distort the history of people most especially the ones who have sound traditions.
Rather for you to be making these silly writings and going off point
Accept that fact that you made a stupid assumption when you know nothing about the subject and move on in Life
