Orji Kalu, senator and former Abia governor, says the presidential aspiration of All Progressives Congress’ chieftain Bola Tinubu is unreasonable and an idea “dead on arrival.” grin

Mr Kalu argued that the Igbo should take over from President Muhammadu Buhari because the South-East has not produced a democratically-elected president since Independence.

“I do not see Tinubu’s aspiration having any effect on the president of Nigeria coming from Igbo,” Mr Kalu said on Channels Wednesday morning. “It has no effect because we are talking based on what Nigeria should be. We are talking based on what people should believe.”

“Obasanjo had been President for eight years, Osinbajo served eight years as vice president and no Igbo man since independence has been democratically-elected president. So it is always good to think of what is reasonable and what will be more sellable,” Mr Kalu said.

Mr Kalu had recently indicated his intention to run for president, despite having an active corruption case pending against him.

The senator said he had nothing personal against Mr Tinubu, but insisted his presidential bid will be “dead on arrival”. His comments came barely two days after Mr Tinubu declared he would be running for president in 2023, arguing that he is better suited to replace incumbent Muhammadu Buhari. David Umahi, from Mr Kalu’s South-East region, joined Mr Kalu on Tuesday to declare his interest in the Nigerian presidency.

Can someone please explain to Uzor Kalu that discrediting Tinubu or calling him names won't make him or any other Igbo emerge president?

You are not loved and you have no chances of getting votes to become president in Nigeria. Atiku has been contesting and using resources for roughly 12 years now yet nothing but no credible Igbo man has shown half the courage of these two men (Tinubu and Atiku) yet they won't allow us hear word.

Imagine what they want to package and give to Nigerians, just imagine. We are yet to recover from the destructive administration of that thing from Daura, which is going to take a longer period of time before we fully recovered

As that wasn't enough, they're packaging a legendary old thief , a man who ruined Lagos completely, by looting the state unashamedly dry and flaunting the loots on their very eyes. Still, this is the man the youth in particular are canvassing for.

Like are you people cursed or what?

Orji, is not an option either, both of them are thieves most especially the frog eyes drug baron Lord. Pablo Escobar of south western Nigeria.

Can reasonable words come out of an exconvict?

A political Olosho that's jumping from one party to another wanted to be gifted APC ticket on a platter of gold, why not revive your moribund APGA or PPA with your stolen money where you will have a chance of becoming it's candidate

How has Abia your Kalu's kingdom fared?
There won't be UGM and IPOB if Kalu had done half of what Tinubu did in Lagos.
Infact, you guys won't have been brainwashed by Kanu's excesses

Ibo have failed in their presidential bid even before the kick off. All i see written over them is the fear of Tinubu. They are deploying a very wrong strategy of calumny against Tinubu who has never spoken ill of anyone who nurses a presidential ambition as he does.

It will be an unfortunate pity if Igbo elites are just as bitter, myopic and empty as their cannibalistic ipob terrorists urchins.

It is very unfortunate that myopic people from SE are attacking SW shamelessly when many of SW are sypathetic to Igbo presidency.

Afenifere and some other groups from Yoruba has been advocating for Igbo president but reverse is what they get from Igbo.

From IPOB, to online miscreants to Ohanese, to Kalu, their elites all have been issuing threat against Yoruba.

It is clear that the hate against Yoruba is real and this will be a lesson for some liberal Yoruba who believes in ethos of Omoluabi

Wrong strategy

The reason Ibos have failed to produce a President in 50 years,

No Vice President in 40 years

No Head of State or 2nd in Command in 50 years

No Senate President in 15 years

or

Speaker in over 40

Is because of their bitterness, arrogance and hateful politics

That is why they won't get Biafra or Presidency... No be curse Na Karma they shall continue on their journey of political wilderness

God hates bitter people change your ways now

Reason why it is always out of wisdom to help ibos, once u sympathetically give them an inch, they will want to surreptitiously and shamelessly displace you. Look at somebody that was given a platform to achieve a senatorial ambition and to be chief whip

Imagine what an elder statesman is saying. Is it also the Yoruba that’s been stopping the Igbos from taking power since 1950? When Ojuku contested, how many votes did he even get in the SE? You can’t even vote yourselves but turn around to blame the Yorubas for your lack of capacity.

To all the liberal Yorubas that love to such the rectum of the Igbos especially when they say they hate Tinubu because of capacity and not Osinbajo and bla bla bla.

I can bet everything on it, if tomorrow Osinbajo is on the ballot, the Igbos will leave Tinubu and start a barrage of attack on Osinbajo again because they hate what they can’t become.

—Is Awolowo also incapable? Why did the Igbos hate him so much that even in death they fail to let go?

—Is Abiola also incapable? Why did Igbo hated him so much that they even supervised million March against him and to this day continue to hate him?

—Is Falae incapable? Why did the Igbos left a Yoruba proffered candidate to vote in such number for OBJ which the SW did not want?

The issue here is that the Igbos right from the day of Azikiwe know that they can’t measure up to the Yorubas politically. Even considering the fact that the today SS & SE always have same ideology removing Delta/Edo, the Yorubas are still leading the pack in the South. We still have the strongest political power in the South. However one good thing is that cannot actually stop a Yoruba candidate, they just make noise without impact.

Hausa/Fulani know the power of being conservative
The Igbos know the power of being conservative.

It is only the Yorubas that are directionless and always push the education narrative to sabotage ourselves within.
