We want to keep this simple and sweet.

Simple advice that will impact your life and career considerably this year. Some are so simple that you may be tempted to overlook them. Don't.

So now let's get to it.

(1) Plan your day the night before: Lots of people just go into each new day without a plan. So they basically just drift through the day and have no way of measuring what they achieved for the day. Having a to do list for each day (prepared before you go to bed the previous day) will have you working according to plan

(2) Set no more than 3 major goals for the year: If you set too many goals for the year you may end up not even achieving any. So drill down to the 3 most important goals for you. What are they? List them. And look at them every Monday to remind yourself and keep the vision burning

(3) Your goals should have deliverables or clear targets. Don't set something like - Improve my career this year. That's not a clear goal. Instead tie your goals to a specific outcome. Eg you could set a goal to - Start earning at least $5,000 monthly. Now this is a clear, measurable goal.

(4) Under each of your 3 goals, list in simple, short sentences the various tactics, actions you will take to achieve the goals.

(5) Review your year goals weekly. As with most things, goals are not cast in iron. Circumstances may change. Review your goals weekly. Only make changes when necessary. Your Actions for each goal especially may need adjustments or you may need to add new ones.

There, that's it. We promised we would keep it short, simple.

Share any ideas you think would be great for people looking to advance in their career this year
