Here is sharing my experience with the South African system. A few facts:
*SA is not a country with robust economic opportunities like advanced countries of Europe, America, Australia etc.
*SA policy is becoming more and more restrictive of immigrants. Basically, they do not want foreigners and especially black Africans.
*Youth unemployment rate is reported to stand at over 30%.
* High unemployment will often result in high insecurity. Check 'South Africa uncut' on Facebook to watch a series of violent crimes resulting in the death of victims.
* South Africa remain a country of choice for Postgraduate training across all fields (tuition is relatively cheaper than Canada, UK and USA schools coupled with a high standard of their Top 10 schools) but be prepared to go back home immediately after completing your degree. You will not easily get a work permit. You will not easily get a permanent residence visa unlike before.
