Even Zik warned that granting the seccesion of present day Rivers, Bayelsa, Akwa Ibom and Cross River will sound the economic death of the Eastern region. The minorities took the matter to Lagos and had already secured the backings of the North, mid-West and mid Western regions representatives to push for the carving out of COR region out of the old Eastern region. All was already set for approval in January of 1966. The timing of the coup is very important as the federal parliament was on Christmass and New Year recess and was scheduled to reconvene late in January of 1966. The Zik movement then recruited their indoctrinated marxists in the army to carry out the coup to forestall the impending doom of having the COR regions removed from the east.

It is important to note that Decree 34 was secretly passed on the 16th of January, 1966 by Ironsi but was not made public until 3mths later with every other regional military administrator other than Ojukwu condemning it when it became public. Pause and reflect also that Ironsi's cabinet was overwhelmingly Igbo as well. The decree was meant to solidify Igbo hegemony in Nigeria. So it isn't any surprise the likes of Zik and Ojukwu welcomed it. So why in God's name did Ojukwu demand a return to true federalism after Ironsi was deposed? Because the Igbos now out of power, could not have a share of the newly discovered oil wells. Ojukwu's greed for the oil in COR region then saw to him foreceibly annexing the already Igbo weary minority regions into his mini Nigeria marxist state. Why will the minorities then support the sane people who had marginalized and had arrogated themselves over them as their rulers?

Now to Rabbi Kanustein, in 2013 Kanu did a video supporting Nigeria's unity . Why did he suddenly change his stance and go for the same old rejected Biafra gimmick?

I expect Kanu in the coming months and years to switch his stance like the chameleon he is and begin to champion a one united Nigeria when it becomes abundantly clear to him that the Niger Delta will never have anything to do with his Zio-Lesotho shithole and even begin the process of leaving Nigeria all together.

As I have said severally, the Igbos will be the last to see to Nigeria's dissolution along ethnic lines as the yeast can not sustain them.
