I disagree with reps on their assumption because since outset of nollywood movies in early 90s there have never been skull mining movie scene. Moreover lives of ritualists on any given movie doesn't end well which is the lessons usually learned from the movie....karma and repercussions comes at the end. Even ritual movies have reduced lately unlike 90s and early year 2000.

Sometimes, I just wonder the reasoning of these low thinking and selfish leaders we have. Always passing the blame. So, America can then say Hollywood is responsible for the gunshots in public places. A sick thought and reasoning from those who are not worthy to be called leaders in the first instance. A leader is meant to critically analyse a situation and come up with solutions but these ones just thought from their anus.

Ritual killings are as a result of poor governance. A situation where the economy is in shambles, no job and enabling environment for ideas or business to thrive. A situation where the government has no plan to bring her citizens out of poverty or put an end to hunger. Instead, what we have is high rate of inflation, high exchange rate and everything negative.

What they should have thought of is who are behind these ritual killings? Once they get answer to this, they will realise that many are within the youth age bracket. The next question should then be why are these youths involved in this? Nobody pays attention to them. The government is busy with infrastructures that add no value directly in ending the citizens' hunger. Yet, they don't want ritual killings to increase.

N.B I am not in support of anyone taking the life of another just because of money. There are always repercussions.

Sometimes I read certain things and I begin to wonder so much about our predicament in Africa. Even people who went to school and occupy important post in society are not capable of serious critical thinking.

Nollywood isn't the problem. The problem are pastors, imams, native doctors. These are the people making others believe there's power out there that can make you rich. This is the CAUSE. Nollywood is EFFECT!! You cannot solve a problem by dealing with the effects. Treat the cause and the problem get solved.

Shut down the churches.
Shut down the mosques.
Shut down the shrines.

Your actions are a result of what you BELIEVE. What you believe is a result of the information you have i e EDUCATION- this time religious education.

Let's enter the African renaissance period as Europeans did in the 1600's and all these nonsense would stop. Replace BELIEFS with SCIENTIFIC and LOGICAL thinking and ritual killing will die a natural death.

If you want to change the thinking of a society, you tweak education to impart that knowledge, otherwise you'll be beating around the bush forever without solution. It's such a sad thing we've been educated in Africa not to understand causality!! What a pitiable situation we are that a person who've identified a problem has no clue about it's solution!!

If you are watching film and Nepa will not allow us to see the unfourtnare end of this movie. They just take light during the enjoyment phase of movie. Leaving this boys with the idea that ritual is enjoyment.

If NEPA can give us light 24/7 then youths will be able to watch the movies till the end and see the unhappy ending that befalls anyone that want to venture into rituals

Nollywood should take some blames

Me blame the government, they are the ones responsible for the hardship bad governance in the country.
Nollywood too partly, but how about social media.
And the entire media. The social journalists and all as well.
Also some uncaring neighbors
Parents too are to be blamed.
Infact everybody seems to be blamed including the person wey do the ritual gangan.
But first will always be government

Nollywood is number 1 culprit, always showcasing our culture as dark arts and demonic practice.

It seems that this administration is good in blame games. They are quick to blame people for their negligence and failures.

What are the positive thing that you guys have put on ground for the youths.
is it high cost of living?

I watched a lot of Rambo films while growing up, why am I not an armed robber or a soldier man today?

The cause of these menace of ritual killings in Nigeria today is failure of the family system.

Since year 2000 many children have been fathered by irresponsible parents. Imagine a guy having 3 girl friends and impregnating them, who will bring up the child?
Most of these children end up in the street without morals.
The worse is, these parents themselves are not responsible, some even buy laptop for their street kids to do fraud and take their children to native doctors to do rituals.
Some parents go to police station to bail their children caught in fraud and bribe the police.

Am disappointed in these foolish rep members,. Modern Nollywood wood moves shown in ROK on DSTV does not potray ritual. I believe these rep members have DSTV at home.
Even when ritual is acted in Nollywood, those who engaged in it never end well.

It's like saying bandits learnt kidnaping after watching commando.
Why are kids not flying down from upstairs after watching marvel series!

Lots of children are out there suffering without parents, it will only get worse if government does not visit the family system.

They lack foresight. Even if Nollywood stops showing money rituals, it will not change anything rather new dimensions will be introduced
