We find ourselves in an era where cable ready wise cracks and viral badinage have taken over substantive policy discussions.

doctokwus:
Kpangolo activist, always shifting like the sand.
Blaming common Nigerians for vices caused by the same man he praised.
If youths in the western world, more specifically white youths are passing through the same level of unemployment, poverty and general loss of hope that youths in Nigeria are passing through, they would also get involved in vices like prostitution, scams and other serious vices.
A society that has created a few stupendously rich people with millions of poor people, especially youths of both sexes,is always a good recipee for debauchery.
The leadership in Nigeria, over several years, but especially these past 8 years has been one of the root causes of the sorry state of youth vices and criminality in Nigeria.
When a God fearing girl, that attends church or mosque is faced with extreme poverty, not knowing where the next meal or even the money for her next menstrual pad will come from, sees a man or someone that guarantees her her basic needs for sexual or other immoral favors,it takes more than fear of what society will say,to keep her morality.
When your friend that is into "runs" gets the best things, meets someone that meets her needs, looks good and is attracting the well to do men,it takes more than fear of God,for you to be moral in an immoral society.
What has unemployment got to do with place that released his sextape

You are right, but these excuses have been abused in this part of the world! Many youths get themselves involved in bad vices due to greed rather than survival, or can you explain why secondary school students or undergraduates who have barely come across challenges will get themselves involved in rituals if not for greed? So many Yahoo boys who are blessed still finding it hard to quit, what happens to investing?? Only few people do it for survival! even the ones who are opportuned to leave the country, still finds themselves in crime in other developed countries! Is that not greed?? Most of our ladies turns to prostitution not to better their lives but to use the most expensive phones and rides! Just to impress people who doesn't gv a damn about them! They are the ones influencing the innocent ones!

We should really stop making up excuses for all these fraudsters and olosho's.
These generation are just too lazy to fight challenges!
#respect to those who tried but gave up along the way tho..

See this Af**a Man ....what more do most of their men work for once they manage to have money both young and old it's the same thing .....
Many can go any length just to have sex there's something wrong with many young people in this generation honestly...........
We need salvation of the over olluted Souls so that we can have a clear sense of judgement and clarity to pursue a Life of purpose......
Just observe this yahoo ritualist once they have their money the next thing. Is sex this just show you what is really driving this generation up.... its simply the crave for sex
Oh Lord redeem out soul again

That's generalizing the entire youths.

They will be what you called them

Let's find a solution to divert their attention positively to something productive and futuristic.

No, I disagree. Let everybody do the right thing to survive. Hookup, Ritual, and Fraud will get us nowhere. We are on self-destruct. He is saying the truth.

Do you have a voter card if I may ask? If you don't, then you can start to make this country better by getting one. Then use your social media platform to encourage other youths to get theirs

By 2023, we will then be the ones to decide who rules us. Know that when everybody votes, Rigging can hardly succeed

We (Me and You) can really change this country. We really can.

Lol bold of you to think your vote counts in this country

Stop spewing trash young man. We know our government/leaders have failed us and no denying that. The youths of today will be worst than their heros past and if we are going to continue in this path, then we are doom already as a country. Was the spate of Killings like this then? Seeing fifteen years doing money rituals and all form of social vices is not the right way to go.

Nigerian youths are not lazy. If you want an appointment from aso rock, just go on ahead and ask for it. Don't use Nigerian youths as an excuse.

Who doesn't like money? Aren't you being a sycophant right now for money? Or you don't have sex?

So people should work and work and work without a break?

This country is already too hard for everyone, let people just do whatever they can to survive pls.

Na so o

Except for fact that if they must survive
Let it not be at the expense of someone else's blood

For once I agree with Deji. Glad he apologized to Buhari also. Not everything we play political correctness with.

Buhari was even conservative branding Nigerian youths "lazy". In reality, many are near worthless as human resources or as beacons of hope for a better Nigeria.

Most elders are more useless than the youths, you can't blame those who have no one to guide them but have to wade through life themselves, not everyone has that inner guidance to keep them from going wayward.

Blame the selfish elders too

No Truer words have been said.

This generation is lost. And it would take the shaking of this country to bring them back.
Sex, money and drugs are the new normal for the youths of this generation. Why would anyone even record themselves during intimacy? In relationships of these generation, a couple hardly sit to talk about helping each other grow, all they do is have sex from morning till night and then come online to brag about it. See young boys of 14, 15 years old killing a whole HUMAN for money ritual just to be wealthy. See most of the universities in Nigeria, almost half of the male students drive exotic and expensive cars, even in polytechnics driving Benz to school, all to what end?

And when we begin to question the wealths of these young guys, some defendants will come and ask if we questioned the source of their poverty too.

This generation is finished.
if u start dey reason all this mata u go just Sidon on ur own dey vex..u can't do shiit about it..ur own na to dey ur dey and live right.

look at this idiot, do you know how they got to where they are today, if not the government errors... they are not concern about the citizens.. they only concern on how to steal money and make terrible law that help their corruption.. they never pay attention on how to make law that will stop this nonsense and provide opportunity for the youth..
shut up, most Nigerians have this wayward tendencies. even the ones that migrated to better countries are still among the most criminals recorded. it's a shame indeed

Buhari spoke then based on his perception of his son, Yusuf - someone who got married without a verifiable source of income ofhis own .

Although his views are strong and controversial, possibly no more so than here,Nairaland. However, this view is widely echoed in many quarters .These days I reflect on the generational shift currently taking place- there is a shift from the traditional values and moralities of individual responsibility and safe-guarding of one's name and reputation to the new ,but skewed moralities of go-get-money-at-all-costs.
So,Deji is right is saying this generation is hooked on sex, money and everything else in between.
What we're sadly experiencing is a missing generation, whose future may just disappear like smoke before it even begins.
