Why can't they revive the one in kogi as well.

Who are the ''they''?

The one being built in Kaduna is a private steel factory.

The private sector is what is driving, and should drive Nigerian development, as a capitalist economy.

Go to the USA. Almost nothing is owed by the govt. Anything worth anything is private sector owned and operated.

Another silly response.

Pakistan and India experience daily power cuts, yet they have thriving aircraft manufacturing industries and even space exploration programmes.

Development is not a ''step-by-step'' process. It is an ''all-systems-go-at-once-or-get-left-behind'' process.
Strong wordings here

What does ''compare'' mean? India has daily power cuts. Nigeria same thing. Pakistan same. Most developing nations have daily or regular power cuts. FACT.

YOU are busy vying for an illusionary bottom position due to your inferiority complex.

Man we need to correct your sickness here. Nigeria has daily power cuts. Do you know what they call "daily"?

India don't have daily power cut! Yes there might be issues in few localities bit India has developed more than that. They might have occasionally power cuts but it will be transmitted. I stayed more than 4 years there.

My brother don't act like idiot

Then the they (government) should privatize that one as well. That place has the capacity to employment thousands.

Professional liar. I choose to believe the Indian and international media over their local black bodyguard.

Over half of India's 1.2 billion people suffer not just daily power cuts, but power cuts SEVERAL TIMES A DAY:

I don't debate with professional liars.

Get lost and stay lost. If you cared about Nigeria, you would not tell lies.

I love Nigeria more than you that is why I want her to succeed. The government have the bulk of the job and I must say it and not defends fools like you who are running the country dry.

WRONG. YOU have the ''bulk of the job'' NOT government.

YOU.

Nigerians are 220 million of which govt execs comprise less than 5,000 people.

IF NIGERIANS TODAY, regardless of what the govt does or doesn't do, decide to buy only made in Nigeria shoes, that will explode our shoemaking and fashion industry and create millions of new jobs.

But as it stands toady, Nigerian shoe manufacturers have to label their shoes ''made in Italy'' and ''made in France'' to get Nigerians to buy them.

Is that the govt's fault?

Our number One problem is inferiority complex and self hate. We simply refuse to believe we are the equal of other races. What other countries do is always better in our heads than what we do. You've shown that attitude here as well. Till we curb that mindset we are going nowhere.

Go to hell fool! So, the government shouldn't provide basic amenities first? Tell me a country who developed with that strategy? So we should be keep allowing your stupid leaders to run us dry? What a fool!

Indian bodyguard, nearly 70% of India is still RURAL, which was why the Statista headline did not differentiate.

Olodo. You ''lack basic amenities'' and so because of that you will spend 2 million naira to buy an Armani suit while refusing to spend more than 100,000 on a local attire.

A woman will spend 1.5 million naira on a Gucci bag, but screams blue murder when you charge her 100,000 naira for a locally made bag.

She will spend countless amounts on imported Brazilian dog hair, but refuse to pay a quarter the amount for local hair weaving?

See how you reason like a donkey?

If you and your fellow donkeys decide that you will only buy Nigerian made bags, do you know how many millions of jobs you will create?

Do you know how far you will go in ending hunger and unemployment by not sending that money off to Italy or China or Brazil?

Sure, it is Buhari's fault you hate your own selves.

How old are you? I want to know why your brain can't get somethings straight. How many Nigerians can afford 100,000 for the locally made bags not to talk of the millions for foreign?

That means your country has failed. Where were you born? Man, I don't understand how someone can be this dead to his surroundings

We are tasking the government to do the right thing and you are blindly supporting the sick government. Are you sure you are not a mad man? How do you even think the economy works?

A SIGNIFICANT PERCENTAGE. If just 20% of the buying public changed their buying habits in favour of Nigerian-made only, it will TRANSFORM the economy.

Dumb and dumber, what part of ''stand up for yourself and take responsibility'' don't you get?

Government-dependent loafer.

Again, YOU have the power to transform Nigeria by YOUR actions.

220 million Nigerians wear shoes, most of which are imported from India, Italy, China, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka et al.

What stops Nigerians TODAY from deciding to buy ONLY NIGERIAN-MADE SHOES, and produce 3 million new jobs in a matter of months?

NOTHING.

ABSOLUTELY NOTHING!

Do you know what 3 million new jobs will do for the Nigerian economy?

And that is just regarding shoes. Never mind other things like handbags, toothpaste, processed foods, furniture, etc etc.

Until we change the mentality that 'foreign is better', we will NEVER build an advanced, industrialised economy, no matter what the govt does or doesn't do.

They can build all the roads, schools, hospitals and infrastructure you want, but if WE refuse to dip hands in pocket to pay for what our own people produce, preferring to pay the money to white people thousands of miles away, we will remain a 'developing country' ad infinitum.

We have started patronising ''Nigerian made'' in things that titillate us, like music and film, leading to a huge expansion in those industries, and millions of new jobs, WITHOUT ANY GOVT ASSISTANCE.

When do we make a corresponding drive to patronise OTHER sectors in the same manner, and with such ferocity?

If we applied the same mentality to those other sectors, nobody will be jobless or hungry in Nigeria for one day.

In fact there would be too many jobs and opportunities, and we would have to invite immigrants to fill job openings.

Why are u typing in bold.
Why are u shouting
U keep defending nigeria leaders and blaming the citizens.
Chinese leaders wear made in China, eat grown in China, take Chinese made drugs, use Chinese schools, hospital, yet the no of Chinese government officials is less than 100,000 at all levels. But here u are telling us that nigeria leaders that are not up to 5000 who don't use made in nigeria are not the problem but the 200 million people are the problem

Just accept that you are nothing but a fool.

Nobody is saying foreign is better but what we are saying is that the government should create an enabling environment. What do you even know about local production? Do you know the herculean task local producers are faced with? Is it the electricity factor or irrelevant policies by our stupid government? Do you even have a brain? mention few local producers that you know that are not facing hell with our government? Don't just be a stupid follower. Ha!

These delusional bastards. They should manufacture litter pickers and bin bags first to keep the streets and roads clean. First things first.

You can never reach the top of human development unless you start from the bottom. It is a step-by-step process that works itself out as you learn, and it starts with the basics.
