Following the declaration of a four-week warning strike by ASUU, some students of the University of Benin (UNIBEN) have barricaded the ever-busy Benin-Ore-Sagamu road to protest the ongoing strike, Siggy reports.

ASUU had declared a four-week warning strike on Monday, after its National Executive Council (NEC) meeting in Lagos, to compel the Federal Government to implement the renegotiated 2009 agreement it had with the government.

They were in their numbers by the entrance of the Ugbowo campus of the university chanting slogans and solidarity songs like “aluta continua…” and “education is our right,” among others.

Something is wrong somewhere. Yes, there have been strikes but he should have graduated. Expect he is studying a medical course. Those on a four year course in Uniben during this same period of years as your friend have graduated.

Government officials children don’t attend federal universities here, so they won’t take it serious.

I don Dey this school since early 2018 for a 6 year course and I still de 400L

ASUU demands should be met to prevent this impending strike and subsequent ones.

My sis got admission in 2018 and is still in her 300l in 2022.

And they had to spell ASUU as ASSU
