And what was he able to achieve during his era?

Blew away the golden opportunity of the youth. He was 38yo as a Senate President.

You can't compare Nigeria of then to now. Also, you must agree with me that politics of today requires lots of money. The political structure of today is not as easy as it was then also.

Yes, there are many youth interested in political positions.

When you say Nigeria of then and now, I wonder the difference in time. Remove 38 from 61 and you will get 23. The difference in time is 23 years and the political spaces have largely remained the same. The governor of Kogi state is a little over 40. The deputy governor of Zamfara is 38. They did not wait for some people to control their destinies while sitting on the fence and complaining.

It is true that politics is an expensive venture, but the truth is that most youths participate in politics only on social media sites. They do not belong to parties neither do they even have voters cards. Those who have voters cards do not wait at polling booths to vote. Who should we blame? The so called babas or the present day youth? Gowon was head of state at 36. Check the ages of PMB and OBJ when they led the country as military men. They were brave and not silent. Our present day youths simply do not care. They are contended with pittances. All they care is to abuse and insult. That's what you find here on Nairaland every minute. All they care is to display tribal tendencies that do not change the position of things.

We see youths out there who participate in the system, but the truth is that if the future belongs to the youths as they say, the youths then must do something about that future always talked about.
