Tinubu Announces Plans To End Food Insecurity In Nigeria by GuruboiNaija: 5:40pm On Dec 14, 2023
The Minister of Budget and Economic Planning, Atiku Bagudu, says President Bola Tinubu has announced plans to improve food and nutrition security in the country.

Bagudu said this in Abuja on Thursday at the 2023 edition of the Nigeria Nutrition Week, Media Sensitization on Food and Nutrition Security.

Bagudu, represented by the Director of Social Development, Dr Sanjo Faniran, said that the Tinubu-led administration would implement a multi-faceted approach to food security.

He said the approach would ensure sustainable agriculture practices, climate-smart technologies, and social protection programmes.

“This is in recognition of the urgent need for adaptation and mitigation strategies that will safeguard our food systems and enhance the nutritional well-being of our people.

“As part of our commitment in the just concluded COP28 in Dubai, the government of Nigeria is prioritizing the development and adoption of climate-smart agricultural practices.

“This will include promoting resilient crop varieties, efficient irrigation systems, agroforestry, and sustainable land management techniques.

“This is envisaged to enhance the resilience of our agricultural systems and ensure a steady supply of nutritious food to the greater number of our citizenry,” he said.

Too much grammar. If you have a plan, start implementing it. Simple!

I don't understand the current state of inertia in policy conceptualization and implementation. No sense of urgency.
Sad.

Hehehe.

Too much talk no action.

You want to end food insecurity in Nigeria
But as we speak farmer are on the run from bandit's and terrorists in almost everywhere.

Most farmers have abandoned their crops for the fear of being kidnapped. The ones that were able to harvest their crops paid heavily before they could do that.

Instead of addressing these situation, the government sponsored hundreds of people to Dubai for "climate change" conference. Wasting billions on frivolities, while the areas that needs attention is been ignored.

This is the first time in Nigeria that during harvest season prices of grains didn't crash.
This is a big danger,if prices don't go down during harvest,am afraid of what will happen during scarcity.

I don't blame these politicians, it's their supporters I blame. They see all the hardship, but still hail them on empty stomach.

Inflation and the recent High food Export
is the prime reason for food scarcity. There's no such thing as food scarcity

Expect the opposite. More hunger will hit the land.

Bobo Chicago also said Nigerians will bath with surplus petroleum product and reduce PMS to 1naira per litre.

Don't announce these plans. End it and then come out to tell the people that you've ended it and let them see for themselves that it's gone.

Imagine.
You still planning to…? So what have you been doing all along?

Surprising how his boys and fighters here are going mute lately and all seem to have all lost their voices. You now only see them commenting on non-political topics. Many of them have changed their moniker to maintain fake neutrality while observing but we still know most of them with their words even with their fake neutrality and multiple monikers

Las las e go reach everybody no matter your political affiliation or whoever you claim to have supported for whatever reason.

Dumb!

A lot of jargons with nothing concrete. Things like "climate-smart agricultural practices" and "sustainable land management techniques" mean absolutely NOTHING.

They are buzzwords used for the benefit of foreign countries/organisations with the hope of borrowing or seeking aids. Of course, the end goal is for Tinubu and his goons to loot the funds.

How to solve food insecurity in Nigeria in just 3 points:

1. Eliminate all herdsmen/bandits trespassing on farmlands:

This is a big point. All herdsmen who trespass should have all their cattle sold and paid as reparations to the farm owners. Plus, the useless herders need to be jailed for at least 27 years.

Nigeria is not a country with a lot of large agricultural companies who service the local markets. Large agricultural companies often export their products.

It's the small and midsize farmers who service the local market. They need to be protected. Not scared away from their farmlands.

2. Uproot all terrorists/bandits imposing taxes on farming villages:

Find 'em and hang 'em.

Impose illegal taxes, you die. Farmers should not live under the malicious influence of criminals.

3. Provide material assistance and training directly to farmers:

For instance, seeds, equipments and fertilizers could be provided DIRECTLY to the farmers. The process should be free from corruption and the influence of criminals.

There! Problem solved and I didn't even need the help of slavering sycophants.

All talk no action. When Nigerian leaders give you hope eh..you will think they can raise the dead. The more they tell you things will improve...the worst it becomes.
I prefer letting the people see the results of your plans rather than the plans to achieve result which might never be realised.
Let the people eat!

😁 The Satanic World Bank won't be happy with this at all because it would destabilise their agenda of perpetually stifling the growth and development of African economies.
The human devils had advised FG to lift import restrictions, claiming it would lift 1.5 million out of poverty.
But any reasonable man knows it is a blatant lie aimed at making Nigeria a dumping ground for foreign imports, stifle her economic growth and development and continue to gain from our sufferings.
