Both the Correctional Service and railways are on the Exclusive List, but lawmakers will vote on allowing states to participate in these areas. It doesn't make sense to have state laws, courts and prosecutors but not prisons. The federal government is wasting money holding prisoners it doesn't need to. Make the states carry their own weight. 10 Likes 2 Shares |

They should not put VAT in the Exclusive list o abeg The issue is still in court sef, I wander why they want to debate on it. A lot of other things needs to be in the concurrent list too, things like establishment of ports and prisons etc. 5 Likes |

The Supreme Court recently struck down President Muhammadu Buhari’s Executive Order 10 granting financial autonomy to state Houses of Assembly and state high courts. Problem solved unless the Supreme Court says the state legislatures need to pass the law. The governors will sue again so we'll see. It's funny the solution is the legislature doing their jobs passing laws favoring themselves. The Executive can't and won't save while the supreme courts told them to save yourselves. 1 Like |

That's not the problem. Change the type of Government we run to Region forms of Government or expect NOTHING SERIOUSLY FROM WHOEVER DIRECT OVER THE AFFAIRS OF THIS COUNTRY. It's the system, and unfortunately you can't build on it and expect something Seriously go 1 Like |

The lawmakers will vote on the proposal to put VAT on the Exclusive List, which will take it within the purview of only the Federal Government. Lol they'll won't get the votes at the state legislatures to make this happen. States aren't going to give up power unless you're offering alot of powers and tax incentives.. |

walemoney007:Leave them to put it nah. That one will die ooo unless they have Southern collaborators. adioolayi:They don't need to......Once the Constitution is changed today, it takes immediate effect. However, these issues will still go to the 36 States & they need 24 States to accept. 1 Like |
