Easy location for the seaport. Cheaper for shops to operate because it is open directly to the sea. It will make for competition with the Cotonou sea port.

What about the displaced communities?

They should also be a stakeholder.
U mean d marine community or what.....if u leave ur village nw to go build shanties at d beach and u expect to be compensated if govt want to make use of its properties.....there so many things most of u don't understand.....there's an amount of distance u must keep away from d sea just as it exists in power line

FG should do the needful, to diversifies Nigerian infrastructures, Lagos already have a see port, building another one in badagry is like putting all your eggs in one basket...

project like this should be shifted to other parts of the country where there's an open sea, e.g Delta, Rivers or Akwa Ibom to service other parts of the country

Or else is a way of depriving the South East the comfort of easy shipping?
Should the FG ban this project?

This is a very smart move by the government of Lagos. It is aimed at taking business away or favourably competing with the Benin republic and Togo ports where a lot of goods meant for the Nigerian market berth as well.

It makes sense to have a seaport right next door to them so those vessels berthing there can berth in Lagos without going to Apapa
