Reason she needs to be separated from others. You can only reform a guilty person. Ataga family is yet to get justice, you don't promote an alleged armed robber and cold blooded killer like that. If at all she took part, you don't send her pics out because this might paint her in another picture in the heart of emotional people instead of seeing her as a cold blooded killer and armed robber. Have you ever seen where Evans the kidnapper was promoted? How come Aba Kyari is not allowed to be chilling on the internet, afterall, he's not guilty yet. What about Adedoyin, owner of Ife hotel where Adegoke was killed, he didnt even have a direct or clear case link to the murder compare to Chidinma's who withdrew money, 2 of Ataga phones found on her (gave one to her sister), sold Ataga laptop, the knife or cloth soaked with ataga blood found in a garbage close to her Yaba residence ...even though she hasn't been found guilty, the cases against her are very strong...whether she did it alone or with some people, she needs to speak up. You don't promote someone that is not remorseful. Naija and the people at the correctional facility are already allowing beauty to cloud their judgement.

The major issue here is the glaring "preferential treatment". Were it a norm that suspect be treated well like this, it won't be a case at all. In short very few will utter a word.

But we all know for certain this is definately not how Nigeria handles it's suspects or convicts.

The females on this thread are showing a phenomenon called 'double think', coupled with 'herd mentality/hive mind'.

If a man and woman commit the same crime, they'll give the woman a less sever judgment, and in most cases, a rationale for her crime.

Let this not only be a lesson for those who are unaware of the female nature, but a reason why one should rarely (if ever) take women seriously, as well as a reason why gender equality will never work.

You are talking nonsense.... they held this event because they got carried away by the appearances of the inmates... i wont be suprised if the female inmates eventually get released because men are senseless when it comes to women - this is also why men keep buying women expensive gifts....

How is that related to a killer armed robber. If you kill based self defense or anger, you report yourself to the police. Let say you even run away, you don't start transferring money from the victim's account. That's a trait of robbery. In fact that's a motive right there. Ataga trusted her, allowed her to know is password to his account, computer etc, so she decided to kill him hoping she wld continue to enjoy his money. Else how will explain the stealing of money, 2 iphones in which she gave one to her sister and his Mac laptop that she sold at computer village? She is a cold blooded killer. Ataga family needs to get justice, she needs to be remorseful and apologize to the family, with good behavior with 10 years, her sentence can be commuted from death by hanging to life imprisonment. Maybe get a paraole after 40 yrs on the initial 10 calendar yrs.

That's also true. But more specifically, it's weak men who enable women. When a man behaves hard the woman becomes soft; when a man behaves soft the woman becomes hard.

Also, women, as the weaker sex, will "herd" together to protect themselves in most situations; hence, the herd mentality.

In all of this drama, the late Ataga’s wife is my favourite person. No single outburst, no public address, she just took her L in peace.

I hope Nigerian women can learn from her. If it were 95% of Nigerian women, they would have given a thousand public addresses, crying over their horseband that went to smoke loud with a 200L girl while they were keeping the home in order, that is if they don’t go to fight Chidinma in prison.

For a woman of her level, I am sure she has the means and connection to ensure Chidinma doesn’t wake up tomorrow, but she has left it between Chidinma and the state. The battle is not hers. I love the woman baje.

If she is innocent, according to the law, this should be a bailable offense and should have her freedom pending when the court needs her. Just my opinion

How does conducting pageants for persons being investigated for heinous crimes like murder speak well of the Nigerian criminal justice system? There are ladies in the slums doing their best to rise despite the tough conditions. Why aren't they celebrated?
