Who Will Pray For Nigeria? by Jerrypolo(m): 2:12pm On Mar 10, 2022
I hear Nigerians always in a hurry to offer prayers for and or stand with an international cause or event mostly on social media with trendy hastags like #PrayforUkraine, #Blacklivesmatters, etc, etc. At times, it gets me wondering if Nigeria and Nigerians are the most peaceful, least afflicted, most prosperous and most loving Nation on God's good earth. I have tried to rationalize all the subs but found out that we do not measure up in any. So my question is, where is our humanity and love for all these causes coming from?.

Do not get me wrong, it is not a bad thing to let's say, #PrayforUkraine which is being invaded by Putin's Russian troops but with the way Nigerians are going about the whole thing and more, you'd think Nigeria has gotten zero problems. War is relative in definition.

I saw a video of a group of Ukrainians numbering about 500 being evacuated and how they organized themselves even when they had all the excuse in the world to be disorganized and I mirrored it with the Nigerian situation across cities and even the FCT Abuja at our said "Peace time", I discovered that Nigeria needed the #PrayforNigeria hastag even more.

Most public primary schools in Nigeria and that of the FCT as a matter of fact have been on strike since the beginning of academic sessions this year with no end in sight anytime soon and not to talk about our public universities and the ASUU impasse. All these are happening during "Peace time". By implication, the foundation (primary education) and the "roofing" ( University education) in Nigeria are experiencing some kind of war! Industrial war you may want to call it, truth is, war is war. Do you get the picture?
You think it is "Peace time" because you do not hear the fire cracks of gunshots (we do by the way) or the boom, boom of bombs going off.

I bet the the Ukrainians we are in a hurry to pray for can still have access to fuel for cars and other sundry uses if they care and are still enjoying 24hours of electricity in areas that have not been shelled yet by Russian forces. Much can be said about their universities. At least, with the number of Nigerians that were stranded at the beginning of hostilities.
Once again, I would love to make it clear that I have nothing against the Ukrainians, I'm just drawing comparisons between a "war torn" country and a "peaceful" one. Nigeria is so peaceful that Nigerians thronged the Ukrainian embassy in Abuja looking for a way out. So much for "peaceful", abeg my people, #PrayforNigeria.

To a people that the #BlackLivesMatters trended amongst the most and most populated black nation, you'd think these guys actually love themselves, YES THEMSELVES!!!

From cult wars to drug wars and human trafficking, Nigerians are known to have no mercies when dealing in the above mentioned. In Ukraine and other regions of conflicts, there exist some kind of rules of engagement where women and children are spared, not in Nigeria. People vanish everyday never to be ever seen or heard from again or at "best" found dead, decomposing, badly mutilated and or missing vital organs and privates. Ritual killings and organ harvesting trade are one of the major threats to women and children in Nigeria as at now. In "war torn" Ukraine, even women and children are given some sort of protection from the direct impact of the war. Not in Nigeria. Yet we are at peace. Let us #PrayforUkraine

#BlackLivesMatters indeed. #Umoren #Tina #Hanifa #Bamise.

In "war torn" Ukraine, people hide in sub stations, underground tunnels and other places that if they exist in Nigeria would be considered extremely dangerous. Yet we are yet to hear of a single person missing and being found with eyes and privates missing. Who did we offend?

In "Peace time" a citizen will board a bus and wind up dead! Not by accident or any other natural cause and we all feel indifferent because we have been disensitized. She's definitely not the first and same not going to be the last.

We are doing what Putin is doing to Ukraine to ourselves and worse, we are cold, self conceited and undeniably brutal. We are at war!!!
#PrayforUkraine
