The Nigerian movie industry popularly known as Nollywood has evolved over the years while progressively producing beautiful actors and actresses we cannot forget in a hurry. The industry has enjoyed unprecedented growth over the years and has witnessed a lot of transformation from what it used to be.

Nollywood had in years back been graced with multi talented actors and actresses who once starred on our screens, week-in-week-out. It has also experienced the sudden fading out and disappearance of some of its best acts even to the shock of their fans.

10. Tony umez
Being a go-getter and a goal-oriented young adult, Tony Umez pursued a career in the movie industry (Nollywood) after he couldn’t secure a job for himself. Ordinarily, he was supposed to work with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs but no, there were no jobs.

Tony joined the movie industry in 1993 to make ends meet. It wasn’t all smooth and simple as you might have imagined. It is, in fact, a huge task to act in a movie, but it wasn’t that hard for Tony because of obvious reasons.

Yes, please. Tony performed in stage drama and plays while he was in Secondary school. Now, Tony never knew he was preparing himself for the future while he performed these plays and drama.

Sadly enough, Tony left the movie industry after playing his first two roles – his first two movies. He left the movie industry for few years because he got nothing; not even a dime to complement his skill.

Tony returned in 1997. Then, he was opportuned to feature in more movies. In 1997, he starred in “The Princess,” #themovie and then the Nollywood blockbuster movie “Died Wretched,” released in 1998. Plainly, he rose to prominence following his expertise in explaining his character in this movie.

Movies
Tony Umez has starred in over 150 movies since he rose to prominence. These among other are some of his movies;

° Stranger on my Bed

° Oyato

° Ikaino Restaurant

° Out of Fire

° No where to be found (TV series)

° Living with the Devil

° Tin ba Taiye Wa

° Millionaires Club

° Ikaino Restaurant

° No Rival: Ko si Orogun

° Dirty Demand

° Room 027

° The Preacher’s Wife

° A Second Time

° The Coven

° Blood of the Orphan

° Billionaires Club

° Fire on the Mountain

° Awimayehun

° Blood Sisters

° Pains

° Occultic Kingdom

° Ababo

° Died Wretched
