Another optics..... banning the "touts" from collecting revenue (which is 90% a lie) only creates more unemployment.....those unemployed touts would either join ESN bandits or jump on the next bus to Lagos to come and commit crime...... provide jobs and stop trying to give an impression.

Rollsnjaguar:
Very good, don't allow Anambra to be like Lagos where you have touts at every bus stop.

If the touts don't have another job, they should go and farm. There are surplus land for farming everywhere.

From tomorrow any tout seen around any bus stop in Anambra must be arrested and taken to farm settlement, they should use their strength to farm and produce food for their family and the state.

Shut up. All the touts in Nigeria abandoned their legitimate businesses. Some are mechanics, tailors etc.

I thought only Lagos has touts and agberos and the entirety of SE was free from the menace going by comments on this platform. Who is he then banning? More confusing is the fact that the very people who insinuated that that only Lagos is full of touts are the same people praising Soludo for banning touts in Onitsha. What is happening here?

If not , this ban will not work

There are many fixes for these touts in case you don't know. Repentance for the lucky few, prisons for most of them, tyre and a keg of petrol for the most unfortunate, bottom-line remains, each and everyone of them have "fixes".

He needs better ERP to manage both local governments and the state, with secured data center both home and abroad. He can start gradual documentation of indigenes and aliens in the state. He can try to digitize 35% of all government services in his first 4 years. With that, level of corruption would reduce when there are little human intervention in handling state funds.

He needs committed staff to work with him and better state house of assemble who are genuine lovers of development and progress.

He needs to work of level of illiteracy too.

Mistake number 1 as far as I am concerned.

While I do not subscribe to the activities of touts and the likes, it is a reality that most state governors have to deal with. That revenue pipeline is well organized and feeds way up the ladder to the very top. Coming in and immediately upsetting the apple cart and shutting off the pipeline is a recipe for disaster.

What do you do with the 100s and maybe 1000s of youths that benefit from the system? What is the government's plan for them? Do they have a role to play in the new system that is to be introduced? How will it benefit them and the numerous people that depend on them for succor? How does the government plan to enforce this ban and won't this create a new slew of crises across the state? Why don't you wait until you introduce the new before unplugging the old?

A more rational approach would have been to hold extensive consultations with all stakeholders in that sector. Then put together and implement the new plan or scheme for park and market management. Launch within a controlled environment and handle all of the issues that arise from the pilot phase before full implementation.

Once the stakeholders are carried along, they will see the value in the new system and the benefit to them. Then it will be better received by all.

Anambra people decide who rules them, so if he does well in his first term, he will be re-elected. We crushed the Tinubus of the SE a long time ago. That will not be tolerated. Anambra voters can also not be bought
