A student of Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU) has averred that Internet scammers, who are better known as Yahoo boys, have saved the country’s economy from plunging into recession.

The argument was a debate on whether Yahoo Yahoo is a lifeline or a life wire.

Backing his assertion with results from findings, the young scholar stated that the finest estates in the country are owned or occupied by these internet scammers and they own the most expensive rides and clothes.

He held that the country’s gross per per capital income has increased because of the amount of money lavished by the Yahoo boys.

How did we get here? Imagine an undergraduate justifying theft as an economy advantage, does he know the section 419 which is obtain by trick (obt). The drug trade is even justifiable because cocaine is being used by some pharmaceutical firm. But theft is just unjustifiable, imagine defending armed robbery, ritual killing etc.

not supporting fraud. there's a difference.

One provides much needed foreign currency and adds to the community while the other takes already existing local currency, changes ownership and reshuffles it in the community but do not add.

.
Theyr're both thieves btw.

The argument is wrong ,because they consume foreign goods and the money also go out because they are produced in Nigeria.

P.S.: Embezzling politicians are also yahoo boys. Thank you.

There shouldn't be a debate with such a topic.

Imagine organising a debate on whether "armed robbery helps the economy because criminals are getting rich through it"

Sounds irresponsible and a pointer to a glaring lack of imagination.

Using Abba Kyari (sophisticated chief of yahoo) in police uniform, as a case study, you go know say there's an element of truth in what this guy is saying

However his prayers should be that he also be a victim of what he's advocating for
