They deserve it. Honestly inflation has rendered the minimum wage useless. Except government do something about the rising dollar, we are in trouble.

Every one deserves a pay rise. Inasmuch as the police can make case for it, it still wouldn't stop them from being corrupt

To me that 100k small.

They should start from 250k at least it will reduce bribery.

If e easy make senators or HoR make Dem carry gun stand under sun.

D money can be gotten from the senators salary if they slash it by 40% down.

Many foolish Nigerian "yoots" are on this thread agreeing with their demands.

Cretins, where should the funds come from?

Later, you will see the same poorly educated creeeetins start screaming that Buhari is borrowing and increasing Nigeria's debt.

Fooooools!

Any Police seen protesting should be shot, manhandled, swiftly pursued until hte trips and falls into a dirt gutter. Where he must drink a considerable gallons, and he's made to frog jump in the wake.

Any police personnel seen protesting should be grabbed roughly on the belt and dragged to the station like a goat.

Shots should be fired. Tears gas fired until the police protesters gasp for breathe or better still faint.

Batons Should be used in dealing them heavy blows, while blood trickle from their noses.

Thundering slaps should disfigure their corrupt faces too.

Since this strike talk is gradually gaining momentum, same shits, inhumane, and unwholesome treatments they subjected innocent and poor EndSars protesters to, must be given to them 100%.

During ENDSARS, these rogues suppressed all our strategies and made young Nigerians shed tears all because we were demanding for something beneficial. Something that would greatly change the entire force. Sadly, they couldn't see beyond their nose.

Nobody's protesting.

Tit for tat.

Karma is a fuccking damn sweet bitch

So who exactly is going to do all this for you?

If I was to sign the order ...

Then the policemen will have to agree,
Take 150k minimum wages
And Never collect bribe or extort...
No matter how much their salaries you can't separate them from collecting bribe.

D government deliberately want police officers to suffer and die in poverty,,, how can government pay less than 50k to security personnel and want such personnel to survive in dis country without taking bribe ? Let's join and with our officers on dis, paying our security personnel's well will go a long way to average Nigerians atleast d high rate of extortion will reduce... Let's not forget dat d citizens make up the police, as most r retiring other citizens are taken over

If you want them to be effective, then the salary is too small for them, they are not doing the same job with teachers, they are putting their lives and time on the line and the inflation is biting everyone hard rn
Nigeria can only survive by what she has, you really think all sectors don't need salary increase with the current economic situations? If you give police 500,000 per mouth, they will not stop the shameless bribe and fraudulent acts.

It's quite unfortunate that we have leaders that are just existing... But does the police know what they're actually doing and the risk involved in protest as a civil servant in this country? I believe their action is a joke because they're signing anonymously. In as much as i support them on this, most of them may loose their jobs on the ground that they abandoned their duty and leave the populace insecured and vulnerable to danger against their oath. There are other ways to go about this. Why not sue them to court via human rights agency instead?

Well, like Trump (send F52 craft with chinese flag to bomb russia, then let's sit and watch)

I think it's time for the police to suffer what we went through during and after #endsars protest. Na turn by turn.

Guys, now, na them them... So, let's sit back and watch!

They don't deserve to have salary increase since road blocks generate revenue for them.

The police in every country is d true reflection of d said country's xter ,,, so before u critise police try and consider it,,,, Don't forget dat d increase dey r fighting for will benefit aspiring young graduates too as most of dem clamoring for salary increase will soon retire

I am actually shocked that people who put their lives daily on the line to keep the streets safe collect less than 100k as minimum wage...

Yet lawmakers who have absolutely no leadership value to the average Nigerian earn in 7 to 8 figures every month, doing next to nothing.

police ASP retired goes home with less than 2m after serving for 35yrs.It is really a pity.

Good one, enough of treating our officers like slave. How can a police officer with wife and children survive with 47 in this country. How can someone serve for 35 yrs and he cannot go home with 2m.This is the reason for corruption in the force, everybody wants to survive by all means.

with what qualifications Do they have to deserve it, school teaching with years of education and training get peanut, yet police officer with primary sch cert want 100,000 plus everyday 2-10k they make through extortion. You did not even consider if Nigeria has such money, you did not considered that Nigeria may not be able to even recruit to add to the police that are already too small in numbers. Haba. Are you aware that DPO current salary is more that most senior principal even with PHD certificate? The lowest level salary is collecting more than the smallest in politics that went to just 4 months training to become police.
You can't compare a life threatening job to any other civil service job.The police deserve more pay because the job is full of stress and risk.A police officers can stay 6_12 months in an operation ground without the hope of coming back alive and without seeing his family. The reason why police officers are corrupt is because government make it like that.

Were they forced to become police officers? Did anyone put a gun to their heads? They knew the risk when they decided to join the police force and asking for special treatment because of that is pure nonsense.

They have no special rights to demand for benefits that other government workers do not have.

When people are given power without any repercussions if misused, abuse of that power is inevitable. It is human nature and it has gone on for thousands of years. That is the reason why the corruption in the NP still exists today and also why our politicians are also corrupt as well.

Raising their salaries will not curb their excesses at all.
