Gov Obiano promised to upgrade three general hospitals in there senatorial zones in Anambra to specialist hospitals namely Onitsha general hospital, Enugu Ukwu general hospital and Ewkulobia general hospital, and he fulfilled his promise.

Anambra has the most efficient health care system in the country closely followed by those of Osun, Ogun, Lagos and Rivers states to make up the top five states according to WellNewMe, the health technology company that generated the report, in ranking the states.

The publication evaluated all 36 states including the Federal Capital Territory (FCT)

The Anambra International Airport Cat. 9 Fire Station with three state-of-the-art Fire trucks have arrived. The arrival of these trucks will remove the remaining restrictions on the category of aircraft allowed to land at the airport.

Obiano’s Good Performances Outweigh His Shortcomings, Says Market Leader

President of Fairly Used and New Motorcycles Dealers Association ( FUNMDA), Nnewi, Anambra State, Mr Sunday Okoli has testified that former Governor Willie Obiano’s administration took care of traders in the State.



Mr Okoli at the weekend in Nnewi disclosed this while interacting with Newsmen
According to him,the former Governor came to the rescue of the traders when they had a challenge of erosion menace at 100 Foot Road which he said threatened FUNMDA trading activities.

He noted that without the quick response of Governor Obiano to the erosion menace the traders would have been sent packing.

“Governor Obiano’s administration tried so much for traders to the best of my knowledge. But there was a levy they collected from us which we did not like.



“He, however, ran to our rescue to fix the erosion site at the 100 Foot Road which would have affected us, if not constructed. So, we will use his good deeds to cover his shortcoming, ” Mr Okoli said.

He mentioned security and lack of a good road network as among the problems currently militating against smooth trading activities at the marketplace.

“These are the things that should be fixed before this rainy season sets in. We have been doing them with our limited resources. The security lapses sometimes lead to the traders experiencing some pockets of loss of their goods to thieves who break some of the stalls.

“But we are working on it. Though sometimes the police are afraid of coming to effect arrest at markets, we arrest some of those criminals and hand them over to the police, ” he said.


On fake issuance of insurance documents reportedly prevalent at the market, the President said his administration had continued to checkmate it with the leadership of those doing the business.

He lamented that the most worrisome development in the insurance business at the market was the issuance of fake receipts by the operators using stall names that were non-existent in the market to prepare documents to cover stolen motorcycles and other criminal activities.

He also said that his association had been working round the clock to arrest the situation.
