Management of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) in Oyo State has debunked a video making the rounds that a female corps member was wearing a long white skirt instead of the standard white shorts at the orientation camp, Iseyin.

Photos and Videos sighted by show a female corps member wearing white and khaki skirts at one of the NYSC orientation camps.

Assistant Director, Press and Public Relations Unit, NYSC, Oyo State, Mrs Olatoye Christy, in a statement, said that no such corps member was present at the orientation camp, adding that every corps member is abiding with the rules of the scheme.

"The attention of the management of the NYSC Oyo State has been drawn to the video that has gone viral in the social media showing an unidentified corps member that was purportedly spotted in NYSC Oyo State camp wearing a long white skirt instead of the conventional white short," she said.

It is important to set the record straight that the scene was never captured in Oyo State camp. Corps members are mandated to always put on the white T-shirt and white shorts as their uniform in camp and there was never any corps member who refused to comply with the NYSC dress code whether based on religious belief or any other reason.

“The NYSC camp is a regimented setting and no individual can be allowed to behave contrary to the rules and regulations guiding the orientation exercise. The general public is hereby advised to disregard the video as a scenario in Oyo camp as such never happened in the permanent orientation camp, Iseyin."

You made a good point honestly, but my problem with you Christian is hypocrisy.

When a hijabi sister wore skirt instead of short and trousers simply because she believed it against her religion, hell let loose, she was supported by MURIC but the Christians and CAN crucified and roasted her online. That same year (I think it happened two or three years ago) when a deeper life Christian refused to wear trouser and wore khaki sewn into skirt, CAN was calling for NYSC dress code review to accommodate all beliefs, haaaa!!!!.

I am here live in Oyo camp, so I knew it was all a lie.

If the Muslim will be allowed to cover with hijabs, why won't she be allowed?

Don't be stupid. Islam is against women wearing trousers or shorts that is not wear under LONG dress.

This is what we're saying, no constitution whatsoever should criminalize decent dressing in the name of one institution ethics.

We still call on NYSC to allow whoever wants to be more modest (wearing skirts) be allowed to. Afterall they allowed who wants to be walking naked.

Many of you don't know that Muslims would not against anybody when fighting to wear skirts. This is because, the call for skirt is directly favor Muslim women. There are many of Muslim women who want to wear skirt too, so if a Christian fight for that, it becomes a win win for Muslim.
But when a Muslim fight for hijab rights, it is the Christians that would stood on their way. But right to hijab also favors some group of Christians which are the Catholic nuns. But the Christians knows this, they just want to fight Muslim for hatred sake rather than considering the benefit the right to hijab would give to some Christians.
If NYSC allowed skirts today, I can tell you that Muslim would wear it more than any other religion.
