The undemocratic nature of APC internally stems from the DNA of its building blocks, the ACN, CPC and nPDP which were never entirely democratic on their own.

The ACN used, fought and dumped many qualitative candidates and office holders over the years for the sole purpose of building the Asiwaju political empire, same for the CPC that never fielded any other candidate other than Mr. Buhari since 2007.

A leopard can never change its spots and this regional characteristic has found its way to the centre.
It is only because Mr. Buhari is the first President from the party that this appears to stun and upset some.

Buhari himself did not come as a result of consensus. He went through the party primaries. So while is he insisting on consensus for party members.
