Low self esteem can be really dangerous. In kids it can lead to then becoming dysfunctional adults and unable to keep a relation or family going. In teens it can lead to suicides and drug use and other related addictions and for adults it leads to an inability to progress in life or ask for what you deserve.

Low self esteem is a problem that should be tackled and we at PalmCredit have decided to share with you 5 awesome ways you can tackle low self esteem and help a friend if you have anyone suffering from it.

Lets dive right in

1 - Emmerse yourself in self-love.
You deserve to love yourself

The biggest cause of low self esteem is a deep seated lack or inadequacy of self love. Learning to love and accept yourself as you are is one of the best gifts you can give yourself.

For most people suffering low confidence, they often feel like there is something about them they or people around them don't Iike. Most of the time this isn't true and it's simply in their thoughts.

To be able to build yourself esteem you must become a self lover. You must practice taking care of yourself FIRST, before showing love to others.

Learn to take your self out, buy good clothes, invest in yourself and get you happy before trying to get others happy.

Some level of selfishness is very desired.

2 - Make Friends & Hangout as Often as you can

Another way to build up your self esteem is to make, keep and hang around friends who love you and show it often.

Having such friends around will boost your feeling of love for yourself because you'll also feel it coming from others. These should be people who genuinely enjoy being around you and vice versa and they want your development and growth.

You should create time to see your friends often, check on them and spend quality time with them doing active things. These create memories that make you happy.

The happier you are, they higher yourself esteem and self love.

3 - Start a pet project

A goal or project helps us believe that we are worth more than what we think. In simple terms having a goal or project makes us want to achieve more, makes us feel important and needed.

Your goal could be as simple as starting a flower garden around the house or getting a master's degree. It could be more personal goals like loosing weight or community goals like impacting lives of children

What ever your goal is, doing something that requires you to get out of bed and act on it builds massive levels of self esteem. It inspires you to care for yourself.

Definitely one you should try out and get yourself to start practicing self-love again.

4 - Develop an exercise routine

A proven techniques to creating self love is exercising. Exercising has been known to reduce depression, sadness and loneliness. Personally I see exercising as a cure-all to most emotional feelings

When you exercise physically, you also work on the brain making you smarter and happier.

This helps to curb negative feelings and gives you a brighter outlook on life. If your low self esteem is as a result of weight gain, then you definitely should exercise and by doing so, loosing some weight and feeling much better and lighter.

5 - Practice Meditation, Giving & Gratitude

Meditation is simply the art of focusing on your inner self in a quiet undisturbed manner. Its a way to reach deep within yourself and achieve a state of calm.

Using mediation, you can train your mind to be more calm in alarming situations and be able to find reasons to be happy and grateful even in bad days.

Giving and gratitude go hand-in-hand. Learning to be grateful for what you have and people around you makes you see the positive side of things and makes you happy. Often times we don't realise that we have Soo much until we decide to count our blessings.
