Na you wey still dey chop bread . Maybe it’s time we all go back to akamu(pap) for breakfast. Say, 50% deviated from bread now, you’ll see the price plummeting. They are having the leverage because they believe no matter the price, we are still going to buy

Those ones will soon start telling u that price of diesel has increased and Russian war is affecting price of hot water used in making the akamu

Prices of everything has gone up everywhere in the world. The US is experiencing the highest level of inflation in more than a generation.
You think Nigeria will be an exception to what's going on in the world?
Even before the war, prices have climbed on virtually everything you can think of in the US, UK and other developed economies.
If you don't know what to comment kindly close your gutter it sounding irritating already.

Bubu should just collect his remaining 14 months salary in advance and make way for the commencement of the re-building process of Nigeria.

He's got absolutely no business in government. He's ultimately become the Destroyer-in-Chief of the Republic of Nigeria.

Imagine fiddling with partisan politics when the whole country has grinded to a halt because of your somnambulistic government. He's more concerned with who becomes his party chairman.

Failure!!!

Not new to us .... our parents told us that the same thing happened in 1984...... that bread of 10kobo jumped to 70kobo just like that......

Congratulations to those that are alive witnessing it the second time .......and to us first timers witnessing it,we will live to tell the story at the end
We should never be seen to make this mistake ever again. History should be made important/compulsory in our schools and institutions

The current wave of increase in basic commodity prices is largely down to lack of diversification. If we had diversified properly and produced more wheat, by now bread flour would have been available to cushion to shortfall from eastern Europe wheat giants. Same thing too with petrol. Lack of refining capacity means we have to depend on developed nation who are battling their own petrol scarcity and won't have time for us.
Instead of truly diversifying, we wanted more oil deposits and were prospecting some phantom basin in the north. Today we are reaping what we sowed.

So who are the we?

Russia said they will follow tit for tat any country that supported and voted for sanctions on Russia.

Russia won't be exporting wheat to Nigeria again since your Khalifar Buhari sided with the Khazar Mafiya to support sanctions on Russia .

That cheap bread of 150 naira you will be paying #2,000 for it all because you have a Globo Homo puppet govt .

This is not Buhari alone. Most of the guys on nairaland want Russia sanctioned and the Russians knows and have retaliated. I hope the America you are all supporting will care enough to send you bread grin grin grin grin

Someone asked how forex is to blame.

The CEO of Banrut rolls needed 424,000 dollars for importation of raw materials approached the CBN for forex. When you buy usd from CBN, you can get it from anywhere between 210 and 414 naira depending on who you know. Do the maths…. What she was able to get was only $210 meaning she has to source the shortfall from the black market at anywhere between 585 - 600 naira… do the maths.

Now considering Banrut is not a charity organization, costs have to be recovered so definitely there will be a price increase to cover the cost of production.

Now apply this to bakers who have to import wheat and other raw materials and cannot get dollars at CBN rate.
