AS STABLE MEDIA LTD DONATES TRANSMITTER
The radio station of Alex Ekwueme Federal University Ndufu-Alike, Ebonyi State, 104.7 FM is set to commence digital transmission. This is coming at a time when the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Stable Media International Limited, owners and operators of Zanders FM Radio and Television stations, High Chief Kennedy Zanders, donated a digital transmitter to the station.

Speaking during a courtesy call on the Vice-Chancellor of the University, Prof. Sunday Elom recently, High Chief Sanders said the gesture was part of the plan to globalize the University through digital radio broadcasting, adding that he choose to collaborate with the Manager of the Radio Station, Mr. Chris Akubuiro, whom he described as a hardworking friend, to bring the vision of having a digitalized radio studio to fruition by donating a higher capacity transmitter for a wider coverage.

He further stated that the donation will not only enhance the capacity of the radio station, but also aid it in moving to the level of digitalization which it is aiming at, stressing that achieving the fit will help the students of Mass Communication to cut their teeth in digital broadcasting through hands-on training.

The media mogul also eulogized the Vice Chancellor for putting the necessary plans into motion towards meeting the requirements for the licensing of the station by the Nigerian Broadcasting Corporation (NBC).

While receiving the donation, the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Elom expressed his delight and thanked High Chief Zanders for his philanthropy, promising to ensure that the transmitter is properly utilized for the smooth running of the radio station, and to the benefit of the university community and the general public.

Earlier, the Manager of the station, Dr. Chris Akubuiro while speaking during the event noted that High Chief Zanders had donated a transmitter to the Radio Station before, but as a result of thunder storm, it was destroyed. This according to him, made them to solicit for more support from High Chief Sanders which led to the donation of a new transmitter with a higher capacity to cover Ebonyi state and beyond.
