The reflection of Nigerian society at large is the number of loud people with huge confidence while having low IQ and no critical thinking.

Your post is an exemplar this with the totally reeetarded stuff you compiled with so much confidence thinking you are making sense.

A coach should have resigned 4 days before a second leg of a critical WC qualification match?

What a totally moronic suggestion! That is supposed to be good for and help the team?

This is the IQ of our "yoots" like Olam09.
Were you born a fool or you just acquired unmitigated idiocy your entire life? Silly cretin forming smart.

The job of football coach or manager is result-driven. It doesn't matter if you are Jose Mourinho, Gerhort Rohr or Austin Eguavoen.

As for Gerhort Rohr, he contributed to this mess because he kept inviting new players for each match. As a result, apart from our backline, we don't have fixed midfielders and attackers who combine effectively and efficiently as FIRST ELEVEN. There was no first team stability. Eguavoen met this blunder and lacked the experience and time to put it in place.

Whoever is taking over whether indigenous or foreign should first work on our style of play and most effective way to combine the talented players we have. We have talented players who can't play as a team. Sad.
I wish Africa President can be result driven like coach

He is not even fit as the technical director. He should go and manage ludo and draft team in the slums.

He'll soon be recycled back to the super eagles helm of affairs...no be today na. Going back to his role as Technical Director?? It simply means there's no consequence to mediocrity . That's really appalling

very much better.

The last time Nigeria didn’t qualify for the World Cup, Austin Eguavoen was an assistant coach

Austin Eguavoen coached the U23 footall team and they refused to qualify for the Olympic in 2012.

Best thing to do. Once you fail in any capacity, the honourable thing to do is to throw in the towel. It's very difficult for irresponsible Africans to do this. But it's the way to go. So much for this fall out.
About two months ago,I told a close friend and some other people that the Super Eagles were an average pack. Others with him dismissed what I said as an unpatriotic salvo. But the truth shone through in the AFCON and the World Cup qualifiers. Save for Oshimen and Ndidi ,the other players- I say boldly don't deserve the Nigerian badge.
It will be very difficult for an African team to win the World Cup,not even in half a century can they do this.
A lot goes into it: adminstration is atop, logistics, nutrition and supplementation; motivation of athletes, and the technical talents themselves. Africa doesn't have all these together. Nigerians have this sense of entitlement to qualifying for the World Cup ,without having the required technical inputs.

He resigned as a failure

1. As a player in USA 1994 world cup, He faulted the Italian player that resulted to a penalty kick that threw Nigeria out from that tournament.

2. As a Coach, He failed to qualified Nigeria for the 2006 world cup

3. As a Coach, He failed to qualified the Nigeria U23 team in 2012 for the Olympics

4. As a Coach again, He failed to qualified Nigeria for the 2022 world cup

Exactly my thoughts.
But it is not peculiar to Nigerians alone, even though Nigeria own is way more pathetic.

If the second leg was won, 90% of people saying all manner will praise him.
Human beings live in the euphoria of the moment. 10 minor wins plus 1 determining loss, people will still criticize you. That's life. And that's people for you.

Even if it is Ferguson who failed to make Eagles qualify, they will criticize him, worse still, even someone who has never done any major thing with his life will also gather and claim to have opinion and dish out criticism. Those ones fill up nairaland to the brim.

You tried but let me help you ....

5. He also coached our U17 team to a first round world cup exit in 2003 after someone else had qualified the team to the world cup. Most of the same bunch of Mikel Obi, Chinedu Ogbuke, Isaac Promise, Emmanuel Sarki and co would later be used by Siasia to win silver in both U21 WYC and the Olympics.

6. His loss to Guinea in the qualifiers ensured we never made it to the 2012 AFCON. It was after losing the Guinea match that he moved to the U23 and still failed.

7. At the U23 level, he also failed to qualify for the 2011 All Africa Games, losing to Ghana (again!) over two legs.

Long overdue.
It's time to look for a good foreign coach not people like pisero or what ever they call him.

Harve Renard should be there for the taking! But trust the NFFF and cabals who would want a manager that plays their undeserving players at the detriment of the team, they won't even touch him or any other serious foreign manager who would no such interference with a sixty foot pole!
