aribisala0: Can you honestly mention a single report or judgement that indicted Dr Iweala during her days as a minister in Nigeria? She spoke and advised the then presidency under GEJ to save for the raining days but Rotimi Amechi as chairman of NGF sued the FG that all money in the federation account must be shared. You are abusing a woman that lead and championed the forgiveness of our debt under OBJ. Fear God |

Praxis758:As usual emotional and sentimental rubbish She did not lead or champion the debt forgiveness. That was Obasanjo's work and it was not only Nigeria but many African countries in an international initiative involving many celebrities campaigning in the West. Many countries got Total forgiveness ,Nigeria did not and Charles Soludo is on record blaming her saying Nigeria did not get a good deal. Nigeria handed over about 30 billion cash that we could have retained if she was not so beholden to her employers the World bank. Under Jonathan did she not start borrowing again? The Federal government share of the Federation account is 55% while the states and LG share is 45% it is her job to manage the FG share and save if she wants That Amaechi and others demand their share is normal Why did she not save the FG share if she believed in saving. You folk have swallowed that saving fairy tale when the facts are obvious the FG share of the excess Crude account is 55%. The FG cannot save for the states. Still the FG share is 55% now that money was spent(the 55%) when the governors demanded their own.. Why did she not save it? Did the governors COMPEL THE FG TO SPEND THEIR 55% SHARE and not save Even though that was extrabudgetary as far as the FG was concerned. The FG and states are very different entities. We are talking about how she managed the finances of the FG 55% Excess Crude Account all wasted under her. She was finance minister with the highest crude oil revenue in history WHAT DID SHE ACHIEVE? Did she have any plan to move away from dependence on oil Saving or not saving is not the issue because Buhari has executed more project with borrowing. So when she decided not to save the FG share what did she do with it The moment oil prices crashed she started borrowing to pay salaries Her very first budget under Jonathan was tinged with Oil subsidy scandal and after that it was one scandal after the other. Have we forgotten the withdrawal from Central Bank for Dasuki Do not bring God into it. Leave God alone |

Yes, I can vote for a woman. But, I haven't seen any that I can vote for yet. None has declared, and if the popular ones declare, I won't bite them, because I feel they are just the same peas in a pod. We know the popular names amongst them. Maybe someone new with a good manifesto and a clean record will be the ideal female candidate. |

A country that voted for Buhari twice would never vote for a female candidate. Maybe in the next 50 - 75 years it might happen. |

Simran94:Well....New Zealand and Nigerian politics are very different in terms of their dynamics. Politics in Nigeria is a politics of blood, secret societies, oaths, kidnappings, godfatherism, etc. Whereas in New Zealand, the same cannot be said. How many women here can top their male counterparts in terms of those wicked vices oz listed? Few. And in this country, it's a game of numbers, when it comes to politics. So, women already know the risks, and that's why majority of them juts choose to stay away from fighting to contest for a public position. Rather, why not sit back and relax, whilst your husband, brother, father, uncle does the dirty job (those vices listed) and eventually wins the elections, making you the beneficiary of his electoral victory. The money and perks will be flowing in, which is what most of the women are satisfied with. They don't want to directly get involved in the dirty part. Just get her a house in maitama, send the kids abroad, buy gold and diamond jewellery, lace, cars, and the likes. Only very few women want to be in leadership positions and hold power. So, the less they are, the more disadvantageous it is to women seeking political careers. Just my personal opinion sha. 2 Likes |

The same reason why Igbos will not be President in 2023 is why a woman will never be Nigerian President. Fulani/Islam will not permit it. |

This is a dream that can never come to pass as long as Muslims are still well represented in politics. They will shut down the idea. |

Mko123:Mr Misogynist, how have your fellow men fared thus far? All have failed and have milked the nation blind . Even a make general could not secure his country ..You men have performed woefully. So pls dont even start elevating your gender, when you have nothing to brag about when it comes to leadership. |

EmekaBlue:is Nigeria not already destroyed ? Or are you waiting for it to be on paper before you will know that the country is at it lowest? . So what are you talking about ? Is it the women folks that turned it into the failed state that it already is ?Who made it so ? Is it women or you greedy and power drunk men ? Now look at the country that your gender are boasting off ! Look at Nigeria and score your gender over what they have done . So , what are you bragging about ? That your gender has failed Thier children and thier future generations without any Oita of decency to reflect on what they have done to the country? . Shame on your gender for for finally destroying this only country that we have . You have nothing to brag about but failure. One day a woman will rule this great country and it will teach you greedy and clueless men how to lead a nation with clarity of purpose . |

Well in a very religious Country like Nigeria it sure does. If this is to be cast as a vote. The Southern part of the country might give a woman like Ngozi Iweala 30% vote The Northern region of the country, hmmm I don't know ooo she might not get upto 15% |
