Akunyuli yes
Okonjo-Iweala no
She was a failure as Finance minister. Failed to diversify away from oil, too many scandals, oil subsidy scandal, facilitated theft with Sambo Dasuki
No success story

Can you honestly mention a single report or judgement that indicted Dr Iweala during her days as a minister in Nigeria?

She spoke and advised the then presidency under GEJ to save for the raining days but Rotimi Amechi as chairman of NGF sued the FG that all money in the federation account must be shared.

You are abusing a woman that lead and championed the forgiveness of our debt under OBJ.

Fear God

I think the question should be “Would women who vote support female presidency?”

I don’t think so.
Even Islamic Northern religion forbids women from seeking elective positions. They're meant to be at home and in the kitchen breeding children.

Fear God
As usual emotional and sentimental rubbish
She did not lead or champion the debt forgiveness. That was Obasanjo's work and it was not only Nigeria but many African countries in an international initiative involving many celebrities campaigning in the West. Many countries got Total forgiveness ,Nigeria did not and Charles Soludo is on record blaming her saying Nigeria did not get a good deal. Nigeria handed over about 30 billion cash that we could have retained if she was not so beholden to her employers the World bank. Under Jonathan did she not start borrowing again?

The Federal government share of the Federation account is 55% while the states and LG share is 45% it is her job to manage the FG share and save if she wants

That Amaechi and others demand their share is normal

Why did she not save the FG share if she believed in saving.

You folk have swallowed that saving fairy tale when the facts are obvious the FG share of the excess Crude account is 55%. The FG cannot save for the states. Still the FG share is 55% now that money was spent(the 55%) when the governors demanded their own.. Why did she not save it? Did the governors COMPEL THE FG TO SPEND THEIR 55% SHARE and not save
Even though that was extrabudgetary as far as the FG was concerned. The FG and states are very different entities. We are talking about how she managed the finances of the FG
55% Excess Crude Account all wasted under her. She was finance minister with the highest crude oil revenue in history
WHAT DID SHE ACHIEVE? Did she have any plan to move away from dependence on oil

Saving or not saving is not the issue because Buhari has executed more project with borrowing.

So when she decided not to save the FG share what did she do with it
The moment oil prices crashed she started borrowing to pay salaries
Her very first budget under Jonathan was tinged with Oil subsidy scandal and after that it was one scandal after the other. Have we forgotten the withdrawal from Central Bank for Dasuki

Do not bring God into it. Leave God alone

Yes, I can vote for a woman. But, I haven't seen any that I can vote for yet. None has declared, and if the popular ones declare, I won't bite them, because I feel they are just the same peas in a pod. We know the popular names amongst them. Maybe someone new with a good manifesto and a clean record will be the ideal female candidate.
Re: Can You Vote For A Woman As President Of Nigeria? by tarantino1: 2:24pm On Apr 02, 2022
A country that voted for Buhari twice would never vote for a female candidate. Maybe in the next 50 - 75 years it might happen.

Lol, in “Africa” it is a taboo to allow women taje top positions in leadership let alone become VPs or Presidents, according to “Africa, women should be in the kitchen” and it’s this same backward thinking that’s not allowing them move forward.

Look at New Zealand, their Prime Minister since 2017 till present has been a woman, she has worked so hard for these years and New Zealand citizens are thinking of giving her a second term. The members of their parliament are women in majority
.
Well....New Zealand and Nigerian politics are very different in terms of their dynamics.
Politics in Nigeria is a politics of blood, secret societies, oaths, kidnappings, godfatherism, etc. Whereas in New Zealand, the same cannot be said.
How many women here can top their male counterparts in terms of those wicked vices oz listed? Few. And in this country, it's a game of numbers, when it comes to politics. So, women already know the risks, and that's why majority of them juts choose to stay away from fighting to contest for a public position. Rather, why not sit back and relax, whilst your husband, brother, father, uncle does the dirty job (those vices listed) and eventually wins the elections, making you the beneficiary of his electoral victory. The money and perks will be flowing in, which is what most of the women are satisfied with. They don't want to directly get involved in the dirty part. Just get her a house in maitama, send the kids abroad, buy gold and diamond jewellery, lace, cars, and the likes.
Only very few women want to be in leadership positions and hold power. So, the less they are, the more disadvantageous it is to women seeking political careers.
Just my personal opinion sha.

The same reason why Igbos will not be President in 2023 is why a woman will never be Nigerian President.
Fulani/Islam will not permit it.

Mr Misogynist, how have your fellow men fared thus far? All have failed and have milked the nation blind . Even a make general could not secure his country ..You men have performed woefully. So pls dont even start elevating your gender, when you have nothing to brag about when it comes to leadership.

Not men talking about a gender being controlled by emotions, egos and an itching clitoris

The same men that start crying like little babies when their favourite teams lose a match, the same men that throw tantrums and come here to spew all types of vile things about women, the same men that cannot even stick to one woman and must have multiple sec partners.

Do men have control over their own emotions? The same men that have such high suicide rates, the same men that are most likely to be serial killers, the same men that go about killing their wives because the woman asked them where they were? Those men?

Can men keep their dicks in one place?

If you want to ruin any man, send a woman to him. The only thing that controls most men is their dicks. Such sexually undisciplined creatures, that is why small girls in Abuja are controlling some people's useless fathers, girls that are younger than their own daughters

The last group of people that should be talking about being emotional, having an ego, or any itching privates is a man that is probably walking around with gonorrhea right now

Shut up, please.

Baby, you're really touched by my comment which was the reality.

What part pained you most? I guessed the pusssy

A woman will be worst and finally destroy Nigeria

Nigeria women are mostly not it
is Nigeria not already destroyed ? Or are you waiting for it to be on paper before you will know that the country is at it lowest? . So what are you talking about ? Is it the women folks that turned it into the failed state that it already is ?Who made it so ? Is it women or you greedy and power drunk men ?
Now look at the country that your gender are boasting off ! Look at Nigeria and score your gender over what they have done .
So , what are you bragging about ? That your gender has failed Thier children and thier future generations without any Oita of decency to reflect on what they have done to the country? . Shame on your gender for for finally destroying this only country that we have . You have nothing to brag about but failure.
One day a woman will rule this great country and it will teach you greedy and clueless men how to lead a nation with clarity of purpose .

Honestly...some of these replies just shows why Africa will forever be a dark continent.

Black men are always be in competition with black women. Instead of them to go and compete with fellow white men or Asians that are rapidly changing the world. Instead, the only thing they know is how to plot to further subdue black women because they know that the whites are their masters and they are too cowardly to compete with him or face him. Black men are the reason why blacks are insulted and mistreated everywhere in he world, because a person that cannot repair his shithole region deserves no single respect when he goes anywhere. They travel overseas like cowards with the loot from their offices to seek medical, educational and recreational activities, yet complain that they are not respected. TILL AFRICA TAKES ITS PLACE IN THE WORLD, no black man will ever be respected unfortunately. Women are not your problem, go and compete with your fellow men! Nah for only women matter dem they get mouth! They dont have mouth in world politics, economy and otherwise because no one takes the black man serious anywhere, because of many years of missrule in Africa. Go figure
My sister pls tell them ..yeye misogynistic elements.

Talking rubbish that has no base is not an insult

It is a statement of fact

If there is a base and it is sensible he should state it.

I am not discussing with anyone who has such a vapid opinion, I am just telling him it is rubbish

You can cry alongside him

Well in a civil argument dats a very offensive thing to say.
Would you use that line of word if you were debating with judges on ground?

Well in a very religious Country like Nigeria it sure does.
If this is to be cast as a vote.
The Southern part of the country might give a woman like Ngozi Iweala 30% vote
The Northern region of the country, hmmm
I don't know ooo she might not get upto 15% undecided

Daft question. Imagine having Yemi/Okonji with a very reasonable detribalised northerner run the show for the next 8 years. Even Putin will wish to come to Nigeria as an assylum seeker!

How is the question daft undecided
The question says would you vote a woman as president,so what's up with your Vp Yemi/Okonji matchup?when it's supposed to be Okonji/Yemi with respect to the topic being discussed
Is that not a very very daft submission from you?
