Governor Soludo And The Political Time Bomb Called "Sit At Home" by Rugaria: 3:08pm On Apr 04, 2022
Sometimes, we inadvertently stress ourselves to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory. Political miscalculations can bring avoidable troubles to the most altruistic politicians. The biggest achilles hills for a very confident good administrator is the tendency to be intoxicated by self belief, to the point of exuding unconscious arrogance on impulse. No matter how good the intentions are, if the perception amongst the populace that the leader is aloof or beholden to the dictates of outside forces are allowed to endure, connecting with the grassroots becomes an uphill task. In the long run, the ability of the government to succeed is hindered. Letting the sleeping dog lie, while taking time to silently and genuinely find congent solutions to huge problems facing your government, remains the most effective way to find a common ground in the middle of a debilitating political impasse..

Soludo is loved beyond measure not just in Anambra state, but through the length and breadth of Igboland, not just for his ceaseless display of uncommon administrative intelligence, but also for his daring abilities to showcase through his accomplishments, what statecraft should look like. In so many ways, he embodies the ethos and ethics of the likes of Mazi Akanu Ibiam and Mickael Okpara, two quintessential administrators from the old Eastern region whose administrative ingenuities seldom get as much traction as they should from Nigerias "cash and carry" press.. People are looking at Soludo the same way they looked at Dee Mbakwe; with trust, passion, respect and with a great sense of hope. Soludo can not be allowed to fail even if he chooses to,.. and that's why it's essential to correct his initial miscalculations on the IPOB-ESN "Sit at home" embroglio..

There are two angles to this "miscalculations".
1) He jumped into this frying pan way too early!

Don't get it twisted; the sit at home issue is a very topical political and economic problem facing the whole of Eastern Nigeria as we speak. The net negative effects of this exercise are so overwhelmingly alarming that they demand an urgent response from every government in the East. But do you think that the failure of the former governor and his colleagues in nearby states to stop this, is because they didn't try? You think it is because they don't know how to look the lions in the eyes?.No! They failed for obvious reasons; they never rated IPOB and prefer to tow the federal government template of using all sorts of high handed tactics to tackle an issue that can be solved amicably. Soludo should have avoided the temptation to engage IPOB on a "shouting match" as to whose orders would be obeyed. Rather he should have used more time to consult widely before making decisive public statements on sundry issues. It was supposed to be his first week! War with IPOB could wait...

2) The unwillingness to accept that IPOB-ESN is now a very strong political force in the whole Eastern Nigeria.

This is more like an elite desease in the east. This desease is on a pandemic level, especially amongst pro establishment politicians. To them, it's more like a class battle! A lot of them believe that the best way to solve the "IPOB madness" is to squash it, while never accepting the existence of Igbos power, reach or capacities to command, control or influence the political realities in the east. They seriously hate this reality. This refusal to accept or even appreciate the obvious, tends to push politicians from this area to choose confrontations instead of dialogue. This leads to very avoidable losses of lives and properties. Typical example is the madness going on in Imo State under governor Uzodimma, who by his recent humble submissions, seem to have finally come to terms with the fact that you can't be bigger than those who sired you. Obviously, political bravado do have expiry dates! Soludo should avoid being forced to start running battles with IPOB. Every peaceful process of engagement should be exhausted. We are tired of burying our young men.

Soludo comes to government with an overwhelming level of support amongst the locals. He is trusted and genuinely loved. A lot of people will genuinely support him in a tango with IPOB! But the question is; why fight with your sons and daughters? This is the kind of fight that a win for you, actually means a loss to all.. Moreover, It's not like the motivating factors behind Igbos emergence lack merits. There are genuine reasons for easterners to be offended with the structure and nature of governance in the country. If the igbo political elite feel that the methods being employed by IPOB are wrong and ineffective, they should be very forward with their messaging as it regards the most effective alternatives. This is very important because of the reach and effectiveness of IPOB propaganda. The problems that are at the crux of these whole agitations are still there and are getting worse. Finding solutions to these issues of marginalizations and intimidations will go a long way to undermine IPOB. Making no headways on these fronts while endlessly lambasting and lampooning IPOB, only compounds an increasingly intractable but avoidable political quagmire..
Let's use our big heads please..

Soludo should simply work for Ndi Anambra from Tuesday to Saturday, go to church on Sunday and join his brothers and sisters to sit at home on Monday

I do not know why he thinks he can end sit at home by simply saying so as if the Governors before him didn't want to end it

If they are a very strong political force in the whole Eastern region as you claimed above, why are they enforcing sit at home only in southeast?

An Adage says: "He whom the gods want's to kill they will first make mad."

The gods have struck 'IPOB' with madness and the coming of it thereof will be destruction.

There's a reason why they allowed the prison breaks at Owerri and Jos.
The two prisons are just few meters away from serious police and paramilitary offices, yet no help came as the hoodlums had free passages.. Most of the perpetrators of these heinous crimes were most probably recruited from these hardened and conscienceless criminals. Remember that the police just said few days ago that the folks that attacked the police offices at imo during the week were led by some of those former inmates that ran away during that prison break at Owerri..

Your comment reeks of dishonesty, and leaves the substance of the issue.

The issue is that our "sons and daughters" took our group grievances (which we all own together) and turned them into instruments for which to oppress us, the same people on whose behalf they claim to be bearing arms.

In my part of Igbo land, we buy cats for the purpose of keeping the mice pests in check in the house.
But sometimes, a bad/deviant cat would start killing and eating chicken in the same house hold. From that moment, we stop calling that cat "boosuu"as we call cats in Igbo. We start calling the cat "nnanwulu" (in my dialect), which means a rogue cat.

From that moment, the cat starts avoiding household members. In fact whenever the cat is captured, it is taken to a forest FAR AWAY and left inside the forest! That is how we get rid of such cats.

The people you are telling the governor to take it easy with, are now rogue cats that eat family fowls.
There are few things you can do to reason with them.
They have committed incest and it felt good to them. The only real solution now is to ENGAGE them aggressively to separate the repentant ones from the hardened rogues among them, and then deploy MAXIMUM force to crush the rogues.

Ndigbo have NEVER been known to be cowards. We won't start today. cool

The good news is that we have the BEST governor to deal with this issue. cool
Soludo is TOO MUCH for these people.
His brain is a supercomputer and he has all these things figured out.
His last interview on Channels TV proves that he knows exactly how to stop these rogues from stealing our collective mandate, to foist mob rule on the rest of us.
Nobody voted for these people terrorizing South East.
There has NEVER been any election where we collectively agreed to cede power and instruments of coercion to these people.
How dare they disarm our vigilantes and want to replace them, expecting us to trust them?
Who told them that that is how Igbo society works.
Igbo society has been in existence for THOUSANDS of years. Our democracy is older than that of the Greeks!
Onye gwalu ndia? Onye ziri ha? undecided
IPOB has severally distanced from them, because they understand that ndia na akpa mgbe ewu ji efu!
Even if we eventually end up separated from Nigeria, these types of people will be quickly removed from society, and can NEVER pass the IQ tests required to enter any of the Biafran security services. undecided
Nonsense. angry
Re: Governor Soludo And The Political Time Bomb Called "Sit At Home" by allcomage: 4:50am On Apr 05, 2022
I thought Soludo was a smart guy but the way he started with Ipob Sit@home tells me otherwise. The political class underestimated the level of frustrations Igbo go through in Nigeria both in businesses, work and their daily lives in the hands of Nigeria and security agencies and this has been going on since, after the war. MNK came on the scene re-echoed these travails, showed evidences of a systematic plans to perpetuate them forever and even increases them. For 12years MNK was talking, showing anger in an average Igbo and by consensus came to a conclusion that the only way to end it all and organise their egalitarian society is to opt out of Nigeria peacefully via referendum. They began through peaceful protests and the security agencies started killing innocent youths and detaining them illegally but the political elite didn't do anything instead they worked with the oppressive federal government to deal with their people. Now the chickens have finally come home to roost, the republican nature of Igbo has come into play, the people have taken the power and their destiny into their hands. They cannver forget MNK who helped them galvanised their thoughts and solution no matter how noble your intentions are unless he's released like boko haram, iswap etc members who have killed security agents, Nigerians and non of their leaders are being detained or tried today in any court but MNK was kidnapped in far away Kenya. When Soludo addressed them in Onitsha, I will clean everywhere yes ooh, I will end agboro yes ooh, empower youths yes ooh etc but when he mentioned the businesses and schools will start on Monday, silence and nooh greeted him. He should have used his tongue to count his teeth but no ,now he has been baptised by the indigenous people of Biafra.

Is Anambra no longer part of indigenous people of Biafra? There's nothing like statism in Biafra land, when there are issues anywhere in Biafra land, they go there to solve it.
