Even the CEO of just one of the companies will spend most of his time do those "calculations" so where will Dangote start and end if you expect him to be doing the minutae of calculations for several companies?

The truth is at his level most of his time is spent networking with governments and other top business leaders, and maybe overseeing a particular company that may be new or close to his heart. His interaction with most of the companies will be limited to reading reports.

If u check well BUA and many other industrialists are into the same production/manufacturing in the commodities u mentioned. Dangote is just bigger actor and more powerful than them. There is no monopoly in Nigeria's economy, only bigots who feel somebody with name Aliko from the North will feel bad abt his riches. The market is open and Dangote enjoys no monopoly as you define it.
He seems to be a monopoly to you because he has the plan, patience and resilience to overcome Chinese cheap goods phenomena that kills other small businesses.
Can you name one industry where Dangote does not have rivalry?
So stop the talking point about monopoly. If you have the capital, you can start a company to compete with Dangote.

Stop talking like uneducated market women. Aliko Dangote IS NOT the only one producing those items in Nigeria. There's no law anywhere in the country saying no one is prohibited from producing those things. Everyone is free to do so. He only knows how to tap from where others most likely ignore.

He has started doing the same with oil refining. Something your fellow countrymen with enough funds has been ignoring for many years now. When he starts succeeding and the billion dollars start rolling in, everyone will start opening their mouths waaaaa as usual

I hope you know those market indices are completely automated? There is nothing to calculate. All he has to do is look at a simple report. At that level, he has internally generated reports and even external reports.

As for day-to-day strategy, the company executives handle that and give the report to the chairperson. Not even the CEO of his companies will get that involved in the minutiae of macroeconomics. There will be entire teams devoted to this, plus external consultants from firms like McKinsey, etc, that will do all of this for any huge company not to talk of Dangote Group.
