It only takes a smart person to see that the west don't really want this war to end, they want it to last as long as possible. But I still do not really know exactly why.

Ukraine can clearly never win this war, not even achieve their own terms to the negotiations, not when Russia is so close a neighbor to them. I mean, Russia can just keep bombarding any military equipment there till the foolish countries sending them get exhausted, the bigger countries like US, UK, Germany and co know it so they know it's a waste especially in this times we're in, even a France minister confirmed they don't have enough weapons for a world war.

Gas-for-Rubles deal didn't work.Russia's foreign reserve is frozen and her bond payments in the like manner so Russia is neck-deep in default of foreign debt.All that Russia thought was that,gas-for-Rubles deal would make up for her nosediving Rubles.Russian economy is badly hit and Russia is writhing in pain like a snake cut in many places while Putin is bearing and grinning it.

With the continuous supply of weapons to Ukraine, that war will drag on and that means more destructions that even Russia didn't anticipate. By the time Russia will withdraw even without any real victory, Ukraine will have already resembled Syria.
