The deceased were identified as Flight Lieutenants Alkali and Karatu, who recently graduated from the Nigeria Defence Academy (NDA).

It was gathered that the pilots died after the aircraft, which was a trainer aircraft, crashed when they were on a training session at the NAF base in Kaduna on Tuesday evening.

This is the first time that a Nigerian Super Mushak will be crashing. Hopefully, the fleet would be investigated. It might be engine failure related. Truly saddening. May the heroes of our nation rest in paradise. Their Labour for our liberty and greatness shall be justified.

This incidence as with other previous avoidable crashes of the nation’s air force fleet need to have been thoroughly investigated and appropriate sanctions meted out to any erring office holder. However, this is a nation where there is no sense of responsibility or accountability.
