That’s just ticket bro.
He will lobby delegates, emirs, Oba’s, etc.
He will travel with entourage for campaigns of which money will be given out.
Build up to election, he will continue to sort men and women.
On Election Day, that’s another massive payout.
Post election court cases requires money (SAN hire and all)
Upon victory, investors start looking out for return.

And we say we no want corruption! I laugh in Swahili

I follow u laugh

You are only comparing PDP/APC with US ,
what happened to other political parties?
No the emphasis he is making is that in USA the payment for any electoral position is already fixed irrespective of parties involved.

Below is the list of what most states in USA charge for a candidate that wants to partake in primaries.

Governor: $5,000.
U.S. Senate: $5,000.
U.S. House: $2,500.
State Senate: $1,000.
State House: $500.
Judicial offices: $500.
Countywide elected offices: $100.
County Commission or Constable: $25.

Let's compare one state in USA and a country called Nigeria.

GDP of Texas 2021: 2.0 Trillion dollars
Budget of Texas 2021: 261.5 billion dollars.
Presidential aspirants in Texas pay a $5,000 filing fee.

GDP of Nigeria 2021: 446.9 billion dollars
Budget of Nigeria 2021: 23.3 billion US dollars (13.6 trillion naira)
APC presidential form: 170,940 US dollars (100 million naira)

Compare that to a poor country called Nigeria. APC decided to set the price of governorship at $85,470 (50 million naira). That is 16 times more than what is paid in USA. While that of president set at 170,940 US dollars (100 million naira) is 34 times more than what is paid in USA.

Until INEC sets a REASONABLE limit on how much political parties can charge, this ridiculous trend will continue.

Are our destinies tied to APC and PDP?
Many are complaining that these top two parties are disenfranchising young candidates with their prices. We have more younger people than old people. If only many Nigerians think like me, APC and PDP would have been abandoned for a long time. But most of the electorates love 'abusive relationship'.

If in other countries, a young person can win an election with a unpopular party, why can't it happen in Nigeria?

that's a wise analogy, we should even add minimum wage comparism amongst them to paint a clearer picture

What a man sows, he shall reap in multiple folds. You cannot sow guava and expect to harvest pineapple - Never!

My advice to your people is to embrace Biafra “wholeheartedly” and start living the dream.

Do not put one leg in the “Zoo” fighting for its Presidency and the other leg in Biafra killing your people like cockroaches.
Your head must shield space. A vacuum for rubbish.

You think it's your usual clout chasing and pointless scoring psychology when talking about your future or that of your imaginary kids' to play tribal cards with? If you like no vote igbo, you and your tribal families and allies will still not measure up to the poorest igbo. Even if you put Igbo-hating promax Buhari, I can swear you'd still work under or beg an igbo for upkeep.

Nuisance!

$5 is for one gallon which is approximately 4 litres.
his point remains valid though. A gallon is 3.785 litres costing N625 as against $5 (over N2500). Now compare! The difference is that, money is well circulated in the system if u want to work. There is dignity in their labour unlike here.

See, APC = PDP. And until we agree to that fact, we'll keep going in circles.

What a totally foolish compilation!

What has GDP or Budget got to do with respective declared fees for candidate forms?

How did they become useful tools for comparison of how much declared fees for candidate forms should be?

That is just a completely senseless, totally senseless, waste of time and compilation.

This is what is F-9 standard write-up. Complete nonsense! grin grin grin grin grin grin grin

You can't compare china with Nigeria on any level, the leaders in China love and care about their country more than their families, it's death sentence to a corrupt leader in China, china has close to five regions that enjoys a high level of autonomy, 2 special administrative regions like Hong Kong who has their own government and even currency , the power Chinese leaders have can only be used to better the country not for personal private or religious or tribal benefits

it's like you like shifting the goalpost. you said constitution is the problem of Nigeria, I said no it is the people because we are too selfish. you said no because we don't practice true democracy. then I pointed to China. now you are talking about love for country. is it not the same thing as the people being the problem or solution and not one law or constitution?

North Korea is a country with dictatorial tendencies their leader is seen almost like a god but North Koreans are one of the straightest people on Earth. in China, you cannot oppose the party. the party is seen as a god structure with no democracy. the leader gives order and it is obeyed unless you won die. the issue with you guys is that you see democracy as conforming to your ideas. democracy is all about collective agreement to an issue by the majority. democracy takes time to achieve results. on the other hand dictatorship is ruling by fiat and it doesn't waste time. our constitution at present does not give god powers to any president. it is just that you guys are pained and full of hate.

The laws of china are the gods of china not really the party you can't oppose the law in China no matter who you are, in Nigeria politicians, leaders are above the law, the break the laws at will, steal at will and grant themselves pardons, it's not about been pained and full of hate, the whole world knows Nigeria is a failed state

The law makers themselves knows the constitution is faulty and needs amendment but those who are benefiting from the faulty constitution won't allow it

do you know the meaning of a failed state? now after passing that your beautiful amendment and it becomes law, who will implement it? is it the man on the street that doesn't give a fvck about anything but himself? if you say it is the government, then you missed the road. at present, government employees are not even up to 2million. that is roughly about 1% of the population. how is it possible for 1% of the population to enforce a law on 99%? virtually impossible. you need the input of the citizens. in developed countries, when citizens see something untoward, they immediately dial 911 but in Nigeria, we start clapping and videoing or we ask for our share.

Of course I know the meaning of a failed state and Nigeria is one forget the packaging

When Nigeria gets its constitution right power will be in the hands of the people and things will be done right, Nigeria needs total restructuring, decentralization of power

you say Nigeria out of 200 million people has less than 2 million public workers, but in reality Nigeria don't have a data base of how many public workers they have, there are millions of ghost workers out there , many politicians out there are receiving money on fake names they put in the public service

There is no way a citizen will be patriotic when they leaders whom are meant to be role models are doing the wrong thing, when a patriotic citizen comes out to protest for his rights the leaders send police and soldiers to shot and kill them for protesting

A country where when you report a case to the police the police end up arresting you as a suspect?

when the people hold to high esteem their stupid religious and superstitious beliefs do you think a good constitution will work. when those to implement and those it affects also believe in this rubbish!
is it the constitution that make people believe in rituals of beheadings and removal of private parts, witches and wizard, deceit, yahoo yahoo and all other stupid vise? No. there are laws again all these things but the people don't believe in the constitution they believe more in their tradition. even those that will implement that your very good constitution believe in this rubbish. so mr, no constitution will work in Nigeria unless you change the orientation of the people.

Maybe if you check the records of Nigeria starting from the time Nigeria was under colonial rule from 1914 to 1960 to 1999 you will see when and how and why all these rituals killings religious beliefs and all these things became a norm in Nigeria everything became this bad from 1999 to 2022 , everything points to the 1999 Constitution
