Did you, in any paragraph see where the parents asked her of the source? They were simply taking it without questioning it.

If they had questioned her or her alleged boyfriend and a critical evidence of the legitimate providence, then they would have been justified, but keeping mute just so as not to sorrowfully pierce their conscience in case the source is illegal is the height of rapacity.
