This is funny because Amaechi, Ngige, Akpabio, Ogbonnaya Onu, Fashola, Aregbesola are all Statutory Delegates by virtue of been former Governors. If they are allowed to statutorily vote at the Convention, why resign then?

Very good question my brother

What manner of uneducated and unlettered nonenties fill up this place called Nairaland? Go to school, you always refuse and soon your illiteracy and total lack of comprehension soon both start to show.

The news report itself fully states that the amendment was necessitated by the unplanned scenario that it caused, yet in your complete foolishness and in full display of generational illiteracy, you state that you knew Malami would not fold his arms! Who turned your life this way? Does your mother have junior or senior wives? Or, is there a man your parents offended whose curses are causing problems in their lineage?

This is serious. Very serious, in fact.

I'm amazed that nobody saw this terrible gaffe in the electoral act before it was passed. It's obvious now that our legislators are not diligent at all. They're just collecting money and creating problems for everybody. So nobody from house of representatives or senate saw this? And aspirants have been busy canvassing votes from statutory delegates? Lol..... not even the selfish Malami could see this? Lol........ hahahaha...they better hurry up before water go pass garri.

Now let me ask you;

Can Amaechi vote in the Convention without resigning?
why most you use amaechi as your reference. Is amaechi only the political appointee in governance today, federal, state and local government all have political appointee in their cabinet that want to contest one elective position. Let remind you Amaechi is the next president of Nigeria. It have been written so shall it be. And amaechi name will keep on giving you sleepless night

I used him as an example because he is the strongest of all the Ministers contesting. Are you happy now?

They can only veto the president after 30days. Primaries must be concluded on or before June 4th I think. There is no time to override his assent.

They either override the veto or back down like the always do. Last option is passing it with veto proof majority.

The president must be given a chance to assent or veto before his veto can be override. By law, he has 30 days to sign or veto. They can’t start the process of overriding his veto until he veto’s the bill and the president can delay for 3 days.
