emmykk: I'm aware of that, But you mentioned 4 regions yet you were talking about geopolitical zoning, these a two different things. No need for insults. |

Why are we all trying to be clever by half? Why do we Nigerians like to buy and own the dummies often sold to us by the political class? The theory that NE and SE is most deserving in 2023 is a false claim and a gimmick. Nigeria didn't start in 1999. All zones in this country has been represented since 1960. Since the fourth republic, the most shortchanged zones are SE and NC because the NE had Atiku in presidency for 8years. The 2023 presidential election ought to be between southeast and Southwest due to obvious reasons for i.e the ibos investment in PDP and the Yorubas investment in APC which I believe the ibos should conviniently win due to rational concerns for equity fairness and justice. Like OUK pointed, that it may be difficult or impossible for a southeasterner to win a presidential election in Nigeria without a deliberate arrangement by political parties to microzone therefore, the ibos need to reach out through engagement and deliberations with their southern brothers particularly the southwest giving their stakes and investments in this current administration. I crave for Nigeria a president of southeast extraction not because it is better than others but because it is the right thing to do NOW! ....But the ibos must fight their cause, they must love theirselves, they must love others and above all believe in Nigeria and Nigerians. Nigeria needs to heal, prosper and develop. You can not call people all sort of unprintable names, throw tantrums and hissy fits toward other people and expect them to love you in return. God willing, By 2023, Nigeria will not remain the same 1 Like |

Tafawa Balewa was from the NE. It's the SE which has legitimate claim to produce a successor to president Buhari. |

Mooh247: But zoning has determined who becomes president of Nigeria since 1999. There is nothing your Jagaband can do to stop zoning. SW has used its turn through Obasanjo. Wake up and smell the coffee. Jagaband Tinubu is trying to be an usurper. He can't succeed. |

nairalee:Born to rule tag given to North is a conspired name concocted and attached to the North. After the death of Yardua, North supported GEJ to finish Yaradua's 8yrs complete terms and GEJ continued his tenure and got elected in 2011 but in 2015 North asked power to be zoned to the North as enshrine in the unwritten zoning agreement of PDP. When PDP refused to respect the agreement North formed alliance with SW that led to the emergence of Northerner as President in a newly created party without any threat, intimidation, insult, abuse or claiming of having total right to forcefully get the nod from the party. Therefore, those who feel unwanted or rejected by any party should emulate Northern political sagacity and test their general acceptance by the populace. You need to know that North is a combination of three zones also just like the South and all the 3 zones have equal right as the others but the good understanding between the zones make it easy for the region's political atmosphere. 1 Like |

emmykk:I am struggling to find the slightest sense in what you wrote here. Nigeria is currently divided into 6 geo political zones: North west, North east, North central, South west, South east, and South south. The North east zone has 6 states: Borno, Adamawa, Yobe, Gombe, Taraba and Bauchi. The fact is: Nobody from any of these 6 states has ever ruled this country, whether as military or civilian, whether since 1999 or since 1900, whether since when Nigeria had 4 geo political zones or 2... No matter how you want to twist this issue, the fact still remain undisputable. |

gentlegenius: south south wey no want his kins in the east to Rule.....will it be normal after a northern rule for 8 years, another northerner will take over? or after your wike rule finish, another ikwerre man or upland man will still rule? make your conscience judge you |

valentineuwakwe:What do you mean by another northerner taking over? Is Nigeria divided into North and South zones? Is Nigeria divided on tribe basis? For God sake this country has 6 geo political zones. All the people from the north that ruled this country since independence were from the north west and north central. If you were from the north east zone, will you be saying the south east deserve it? |
