Only justice can stop Boko Haram scourge says Eskor Toyo

AS Nigeria continues to grapple with the challenge of checking the menace of the dreaded Islamic sect, Boko Haram, one of the nation’s foremost economists, Professor Eskor Toyo, has said only justice can make the sect abandon its war on the nation and its helpless security agencies.

The Marxist academic, who made this known at a press conference in Abuja, said the hostile approach of the Federal Government in tackling the crisis was counter-produtive.



His words: “Fundamentalists are only fighting the war they used to fight those days in Europe and that cannot be ended by arresting them. It can only be ended by the complete enthronement of justice in our national life; not when boys take up arms, here in the North, or when they take up arms in the Niger Delta, you go there and start fighting them. It is rubbish. Let them do justice.



“There is no use struggling to protect injustice or the interest of those who perpetuate injustice in Nigeria. Rather such persons should be fought and exposed. You Nigerians always talk of stability. But you cannot stabilize injustice.



In fact, injustice should be destabilized. Go and tell them that Eskor Toyo said so.



“Jesus Christ was a communist and rebel. That is why they killed him. The Prophet Mohammed was a communist and a rebel. That is why they chased him away. They wanted to kill him. He ran to the Albysiania and then to Mecca. They wanted to kill him because he was a communist and a rebel. I want every Christian to know that. I want every Muslim to know that.”



“Now concerning the boys who organised Boko Haram, the Army arrested their leader, Mohammed Yusuf, and turned him over to the Police and the Police killed him. The government is Boko and should be Haramed, prohibited so that boys like these ones could have jobs.”



On the much hailed 2011 general elections, the controversial lecturer tagged them “a sham,” and their certification as free and fair by foreign observers was “inaccurate.”

We keep clamouring for this but the truth is a religious sect is just as dangerous as corrupt government. Ask Iranian people who are forced to be Muslims!!!

Boko Haram is too religious minded to be given any sought of legitimacy in the minds of intelligent people!

No wonder the only legitimacy they get is in the mind of fanatics like them; just that the other fanatics are a little confused as to whether to strap up with nukes,
