2023: Ahmad Lawan’s Presidential Campaign Billboards Sweep Across South-East by Naijadaily: 1:40pm On May 23, 2022
A large presidential campaign billboard bearing the name and picture of the Senate President Ahmad Lawan has surfaced in the commercial cities of Onitsha, Aba, Enugu, Owerri, Abakaliki  and other states of the South East.

Lawan, a member of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), is a frontline presidential aspirant of the ruling party who haills from the North-East geopolitical zone of the country.

Our correspondent observed that the campaign banners are at strategic locations at the Onitsha Asaba Expressway, Head Bridge, amongst others.

Others were located at Awka, Aba, Uga, Owerri.

The campaign banner had the inscription, “For Continuity and Stability, Ahmad Lawan for President.”

The All Progressives Congress logo was inscribed on the large banner, it also had the name of a group, ‘Welcome to South-East'.

Since he's declaration,Lawan's candidature has continued to ganer massive acceptance from the South-easterners. Most of them have hinged their decisions over the refusal of the South-West and South-South regions to support the zoning of the presidential ticket to the South-East.

Just recently a cross section of the Igbos backed the opinion of the Senate Chief Whip, Orji Kalu that power be retained in the North due to what they described as the refusal of the South West and South South regions to support the South East’s presidential bid.

Rallying behind Kalu’s stance, a cross section of the Igbo took to their social media platforms to lend their support for power retention in the North, pledging to vote for the North East to produce the next president.

Anselen Chineke commenting on Channels TV Facebook page said Orji Kalu’s stand is in line with the general opinions of the Igbo in the South East.
In a related development a group of professionals from the South-East geo-political zone living in Europe and the Americas, on the platform of South East People of Nigeria in Diaspora (SEPNID), rising from a meeting held in Newcastle, United Kingdom on Tuesday, made similar demand.

In a communique by its Chairman and Secretary, Enyinnaya Emma Nwaka and Oluebube Umeokoro, respectively, SEPNID appealed to the political elites in the South-West and South-South to add their voices in the agitation of the South-East to produce the next President of Nigeria in 2023 in the interest of justice, equity and fair play , stating that in the absence of the above that Power should remain in the North.

Someone that couldn't preside effectively and efficiently in the Senate is aspiring to become President.
Truth be told, this country is not ready yet.

This rubber stamp senate president will be worse than Buhari. He’s absolutely clueless and incompetent. This one his campaign is becoming louder, something shocking is about to be revealed

Bill board no dey win votes!

Lawan is just to docile for a president.
He has been a legislator like forever with no impactful bill by him, even his tenure as Senate president didn't amount to much improvement.
