The Presidency has denied the sack of CBN Governor Godwin Emefiele, as at the time of filing this report, Quest Times can authoritatively report.

There have been widely circulated reports in the social media space all through Wednesday, May 25, that Emefiele, who was rumoured to be eyeing the 2023 presidency on the platform of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), was allegedly fired from his position by President Muhammadu Buhari.

Reacting in a text message exclusively sent to Quest Times, the Senior Special Assistant, Media and Publicity to the President, Garba Shehu, said no one in the presidency is aware of the CBN Governor’s sack.

“Nobody here is aware of anyone being sacked. Thanks,” Shehu told Quest Times in a text message sent at exactly 1:38pm.
