Goodluck "Jephthah" Jonathan and APC seeking salvation at the hands of the one they termed "not capable" or is this a big chess move by Jephthah's brother for "their" greater good?


A gentle character; mild and humane who had the burden of rulership thrust upon him without announcement or preparation. What is more baffling is he never sought or chased such power. A few can agree with me that such kind of luxury was probably not meant for him, but like a ripened mango- it fell to his lap as he sat underneath the tree. Such blessing and privilege brought great envy from others who felt he was not "born to rule".
The Goodluck Jonathan's government was perhaps the most challenging in the history of Nigerian rulership, bomb blast here and there, kidnappings and the Chibok girls saga, mock coffin display, several insults and smoke screen to hamper his vision. The bullying brothers would not let the gentle brother rule, and his government was made "ungovernable"
He was frustrated, shoved, made fun of and battered till he left the neighborhood never to tussle with the bullies anymore; so we thought.
The following couple of years, months, weeks and the tree has been left to die. The so-called big bullies-brothers who battered and chased the gentle brother away became the bad energy that somehow caused a drought which affected the mango tree in the exile of the gentle brother. Now the family has been demonized by all who took shade and solace under the once flourishing tree, they all say "when your gentle brother was around" "you drove him out and became worse" and surely these brothers knew for sure they had ruined things and in other to make the family relevant, they selfishly called on their rejected, battered brother just to redeem their demonized home; this is very similar to the biblical story of Jephthah.
But could there be a motive? A smart move by the "now loving brothers" to restore the dignity of their house? Perhaps bringing in the loathed gentle brother whom they envied and deemed not fit to rule-now I ask WHAT NOW MADE HIM FIT TO RULE?
What if the house can't be put in order? What if the mess to clean isn't a day job? What if they secretly loath and envy the hated brother's reputation and seek to destroy it?
Will there be a situation of "I thought you can do it, and now you can't, you aren't that special anymore"
Will that scenario ultimately prepare the course for the control of the house to "tilt back towards" the direction of the brothers who now suddenly and suspiciously want him back again? Will this "little sacrifice" of allowing him to rule beneficial for "their" greater good?
There is a popular African proverb which goes this way "BE WEARY OF AN ENEMY WHO SUDDENLY BECOMES A FRIEND"
Robert Greene's 5th law of the 48 Laws of power emphasized more on reputation and the need to guide it with your life. Perhaps this may or may not end up like the story of Jephthah but in all, we hope the dieng tree bring forth juicy supple mangoes once again and sprout forth new green shoots to shade us from the fiery sun.

Big chess move indeed.
They sat and strategized really hard.
The party was already demonized in the eyes of Nigerians so they brought the one person that can make them relevant.
