This negotiation will be very difficult; the leader of the Kwankwasia movement, a two times Governor of the most populous state in Nigeria and the economic power house of the Northern Nigeria, plus a former Minister of Defence is unlikely to accept to be Vice Presidential candidate at this time. Yet, it clear that Peter Obi and his supporters wants Presidency or nothing.

If APC fields Jonathan and Peter Obi has Kwankwaso as VP, Peter Obi will win unless APC decides to use Buhari as Jonathan's VP. No Northerner alive today except Buhari can win against Kwankwaso and ofcourse Peter will get quite handful of Southern votes.

Obi cannot win with any platform. The only platforms to win Presidential election in Nigeria of today is APC & PDP. What these parties can do is to hurt their bigger parties and PDP will be worse off.

With PDP losing Kwankwaso & Obi, they can't come out of it. Nigeria's next President will be determined from the APC Primaries.

You can now understand the sacrifice Tinubu made by stepping down for Buhari when ACN, CPC and others merged. Now, Tinubu cooked food ready, you don't want him to taste the food before giving to strangers.

Aha, who does that? The truth is that if all those mushroom parties should merge together, they can't still win. Majority of the parties that are merging don't have enough structure, few core supporters and little elements of tribalism, religion bigotery will also play against this new party. if Obi becomes flagbearer and kwankwaso becomes vice, kwankwaso's expected electorate outputs from North for obi will drop due to Ipob/ESN activity, religious sentiment.

If kwankwaso becomes flagbearer and Obi becomes vice, expected voting strength will still be low because only obi becomes presidential will motivate them to vote
