Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) has called on the Federal Government to do the needful as the N34 billion released was not part of their demands.
Emmanuel Osodeke, national president of the lecturers’ union, who spoke in Ota, Ogun State, yesterday, said ASUU would not call off the over 100-day strike when government had not attended to their demands.

My father who is a lecturer said that payment of arrears was not part of the reason for the strike.

Of course he received the arrears last week. But the government is using that payment to say she has met the demands of ASUU.

But the government is just being opportunistic.

It is believed that the arrested Accountant General of Nigeria held onto the lecturers arrears.

When he was arrested, his office immediately released the funds to avoid further problems with EFCC.

The government is now catching on that to deceive Nigerians that they have met ASUU's demands.

Let government please do the needful for the sake of the students so that schools can resume.

34billion naira released is for New minimum wage arrears that's been owed from April 2019 to January 2020 to all workers in different
universities. The aboved demand was made by SSANU/NASU and NAAT .

The core issue for ASUU hasn't been addressed yet.

NB: mind you SSANU/NASU and NAAT has other conditions that hasn't been met which necessitated the strike.

FG is playing mind games with students, making ASUU the villain in its scripts.

I hope they call off the strike very soon. But right now it’s to start something doing for myself.
