In some states they subject themselves to fettish oath-taking for paltry sum of money that will vanish in no time just to support Governor's preferred choice.

Governors get them locked-up in a 3star hotels, feeds them or drink whatever they like, all bankrolled by sitting Governors using taxpayers/public funds, amid tight security against the wish of other aspirants with good intentions or people's choice.
