Conversion you mean, not conversation.
These destructions of impounded items add to pollution of the environment.

This is clueless. Those bike can be converted to mini plough, planter and other farm implements that can be distributed to farmers free. Only conversation is needed. Sanwo can't you think?

The state government is indirectly encouraging crime. many of these bike men have families to feed. How did u engage them? Whar alternatives have u made for them and commuters??

Clueless government

That's 2,228 murderous aboki criminals on the loose in Lagos.

Their northern governors should invite them back home for immediate employment.

Lagos is not a refugee camp abeg.

They should extend the ban to keke napep because these criminals will soon migrate to keke and begin to intimidate and harass innocent citizens.
China that produces okada and keke has none on their roads.
Our youths don’t want to learn handwork again that will give them sustainable income till old age.
I support the ban.

No, abokis don't vote in Lagos, they are that patriotic.
So they should use the same energy to demand for jobs from their northern governors back home.
How's that so hard?

Must every jobless nonentity come to Lagos for survival?

Farming is slow money + risk (if rain doesn't fall nko)
Okada is fast money. Now-now, collect your cash.
-
We have all fallen into fast money syndrome in Nigeria.
A barber in my area had to close down. His boys stopped helping. They need fast money.
Scamming and Kidnapping remain unpunished. Perpetrators are not caught. And they get the fastest money.
So nobody wants slow money again.

This is not dictatorship. Nigeria is open to all Nigerians to move about and live anywhere.
So they will just keep entering Lagos.

This is cruel. Na work dem de work, no be tif. People worked hard to gather money to buy these bikes, and a lot of them are on hire purchase.
In one fell swoop, Lagos govt has just crushed the dreams and hard work of thousands of people. Where will they get money to replace this loss?

I know there are some bad apples here and there, and that people had been complaining about the growing menace, but you should give the majority law-abiding ones fair warning, not just ban them one day, then seize their property the next. It would be something if government compensated them for the loss of their vehicle and income, or gave them 1 month to get out of town; it's not a crime to own a motorcycle is it? Haba, the insensitivity of governments in this country is something else.

So all the bike riders who have been feeding their families, and have been careful not to injure anyone, that have been paying all their dues, working this job because nothing else was available, what will they do now? All the investors who poured money into these bikes - just like that, all that lost.

If some of these people lose hope and start terrorizing the citizens, can we blame them?

Na only lagos dey for nigeria? The last time I checked, we have 36 states in nigeria. They should go to other states na.....we don't want bikes in Lagos anymore......

I love the crushing . They should nalso be sending them to jail , the passenger also should be fine or 6 months community services, by sweeping the streets, clean public toilets, clean government primary schools toilets, maybe , dem go know say, we ain't joking
Re: Okada Ban: Lagos Crushes 2,228 Impounded Motorcycles (Video, Photos) by shegz24(m): 6:20pm On Jun 03, 2022
Seizing the bikes is one thing but its an actual waste to destroy them.

They can be used for other things or resold to china at a lower price.
